Bob - Amp hours isn't the best way to judge RV coach batteries, because some batteries (starting) are designed to produce lots of amps for a short time while others are designed to support a lower amp draw for an extended period of time. An RV generally needs batteries that will provide 10 - 20 ...

Bill - Does your RV have an energy management system, like an Intellitec EMS unit? These systems monitor the 120v circuits and have the ability to shed (kill) some circuits, based on a priority system, if the total coach draw will exceed 30/50 amps. If you have one of these units, it could have s...

Bill - While no two RVs seem to be wired the same, here's my take on this problem. First of all, you were very lucky that no serious damage was done, and for that you can probably thank your automatic transfer switch. Here's what I think happened... 1) When you turned off the generator and the t...

Richard - When you checked all the battery connections, did you also check the coach battery's ground connection to the chassis? There should be a bolt that connects the ground (negative) cable to the chassis. Remove that bolt and make sure the connection is to shiny metal, no grease, paint, o...

Others who have had this problem have reported that they located the auto brake switch and components mounted on one of the chassis rails, and may be enclosed in a metal box. The layout may look similar to the below diagram. Good luck. - Dave [image]

Mark - You didn't mention what model Kwikee steps you have, but since your coach is a 2007 model it should have their latest IMGL (Integrated Motor/Gear Box/Linkage) components. You can buy a separate Control Unit, but it will be expensive ($200+), so take a good look at your present installatio...

Joan - While the Winnebago View is available with the Mercedes Benz diesel engine, I agree with your salesperson that I wouldn't get hung up on a diesel. In the last 10 years the gas engines have been greatly improved and have narrowed the gas/diesel performance gap. Plus, while diesel fuel was...

I'm not familiar with your particular model, but most moderately priced A/Cs only shut off the compressor when the desired temp is reached, the fan continues to run. Good luck. - Dave
