A good friend of ours has been talking about gigging flounder since we moved here. He always talked about me going with him one night.
Recently he redid his underwater light system and changed from florescent to LCD. The LCD uses a whole lot less power so you don't have to have as many batteries. He finished up and said lets go try them.
This is his custom boat especially made for flounder fishing. The bottom is flat and you can run in 3 inches of water. This allows you to stay close to the shore line and the lights light up the bottom. He has a new 4 stroke motor which is really quiet. You can hardly hear it run.
The floor is raised so it makes it easy access to walk around and get to the fish once gigged. He has a lighted fish well filled with fresh water to keep the fish fresh.
Jerry and Bev live on the intercoastal, so launching the boat is a breeze. The have a ramp right beside their house. We only live two blocks from them, so it was an easy golf cart ride down.
Is this retirement?
