This is where we lived when we decided to go fultime. It needed painting but it was right on the beach.
We owned the top two floors and the garage area in the bottom.

We had it painted around 6 months after we lived there. This picture was around 3 months before we sold it to go on the road.

We used to walk the beach everyday. We had a lot of beach on low tide, but when the north easters would come in that was another story.
Remember this view !!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I built this jet ski lift when we first moved in. You could roll a set of Roll Ease wheels under the ski and just roll it to the water. I had electric wenches to lift it up and down and later used the same wenche to pull the steps up and down, so they wouldn't wash away during storms.

This is why you had to pull the steps up when the storms came in. This was a back to back northeaster and almost came over the bulk head. This was two months before we left. We had already sold the condo and I was afraid the buyer might back out.
We lost the jet ski to the sea in this storm. We always thought that the sea would one day win the battle. We enjoyed it while we were there but were relieved to sell it. We had to have four kinds of insurance.

The water didn't win, it was worse than that. We got a call about 8 months ago from our friends and they said you are not going to believe this.

This was all that was left. The fire started in the middle of the block, it was real windy, and they went up like matches. Worst fire in the history of Va Beach. It was sad.
Remember the view from the beach of these houses? Go back and look.

When we were there we painted a large circle on the floor of the beach back porch, with four dolphins. If you look close you can still see some of them in the background.

We never had any trouble with the bulkhead or seawall while we were there, but it looks like the last storm did it in. I am glad we don't own it anymore. It's cost's 50,000 to rebuild the seawall for each house, and you think rv's are high?
There is an excellent restaurant next door called Alexanders. If you are ever in the Va Beach area, go there to eat and check out this amazing fire .It's in an area called Chic's Beach and is right next to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, which runs 17.5 miles to the Eastern Shore of Va and Maryland.
