As you can see in the background, we were the only two white people there. We have never seen so many Latinos and Mexicans. Didn't expect that. We forgot where we were.
We left around 7:00 that night and got lost. It was very dark and no one was around and you know how big Texas is. We kept roaming and finally saw a glow in the sky and figured it must be Juarez which was in the right direction. When we rolled into the campground in El Paso about 10:00, the bike went on reserve for gas. We were lucky.
We happened to be in the area two years later for the 3rd run and were going to go but found out it wasn't going to be at the Bowen Ranch. Come to find out, 3 guys were killed in a knife fight the year we were there and the Bowen Ranch wouldn't rent to them for insurance purposes.
We were glad to be a part of it.
