We traveled almost two years without a hitch and then it happened. We were 20 miles from Calgary changing campgrounds around 10 in the am. When we tried to pull on to the main road the steering wheel would not turn. We muscled it across the road. When I went back to check it out there was fluid everywhere. The main power steering pump had split.
We got out the AT&T one rate and called Good Sam ERS. They were there in 30 minutes. Of course it was Friday, but we found a Freightliner shop that was open 24/7. We stayed in their lot that night and were out by 4:00 the next day.

The first picture is the initial loading.

Wow, what a truck. Check it out.

This next shot was after we were loaded. When the truck took off down the road ,we followed in the bug. The driver was doing 60mph and the next thing we saw was an overpass. For sure he must know how high the load was. We held our breath as he never slowed down. The rv was 11ft. 8in. and the truck bed was at least 3ft. 14ft. 8in. was a lot for an overpass. He must have done it many times because it was no problem.

Up we go.

Dear John & Sue
We know the feeling. Our "A" frame on our travel trailer broke when we were 500 miles from anywhere and it was 114 degrees heat. The locals came out and got us into town and made a new "A" Frame in 6 hours.

Roy,
It's amazing how much talent is out there, no matter where you are. What's also amazing is none of them end up working for any of the RV' dealers. The dealers know how to charge the big money, but very rarely are people satisfied when they leave. This includes warranty work even when it's "free " . Big Bad John & Runaround Sue

The good thing about this type of tow truck is you don't have to remove the drive shaft.

You think your RV is big until they send one of these monster tow trucks.
