Log-in Problems
We regularly hear from members who are having trouble logging-in to the forum. Frequently this is password related, and here are some ways to avoid this problem…
1) Write down your password and username and put them some place you can find them. Most members use the “Remember my login information” option, which allows your computer to automatically furnish this information at log-in. Unfortunately, some computer maintenance programs (Disk Cleanup, etc.) can erase any stored password information, including what’s stored for this forum. When/if this happens you’ll have to re-enter and store your username and password the next time you log-in. If it’s been a long time since you had to do this, you may not remember your exact username and password.
2) If you can’t remember your password, you can select the “Forget your info?” link. If this option is selected you’ll have to enter the email address you’re currently registered with, and we’ll email you your password. Because these emails are computer generated, some email programs (Outlook Express, etc.) can treat them as spam and deposit them into a Spam or Bulk folder instead of your normal Inbox. So, if you request your password be mailed to you and it doesn't arrive in a few minutes, check your Spam or Bulk folders if you have them.
3) If all else fails, send us an email. We’ll attempt to research the problem and may send you a temporary password. Once you get this password, log-in and go to your Preferences, where you can change the temporary password to one of your choosing.
