Private Messaging
We encourage members to take advantage of our Private Message (PM) feature. This provides an easy and secure way of communicating with other registered members. The messages are encrypted, and can only be viewed by the sender and recipient. When you enable this feature you can also elect to receive an email notification of new messages sent to your Private Message Inbox (my inbox).
To enable this feature, log-in and click on your Preferences. At the bottom of the page make sure the Enable Private Messages “Yes” box is checked. You will now be able to send and receive Private Messages from other members. Non-members don’t have access to this feature.
If you’d like to use this feature but would prefer not receiving Private Messages from a particular member, this is also possible. To block a particular member, open one of that member’s postings and click on their Profile. In the “Private Messaging Ignore list” section of the popup box, click “Add *****”. This will prevent that person from sending you PMs. When/if they attempt to send you a PM, they’ll get this message….
You are on this user's ignore list and can not send a private message.
If you later decide to accept PMs from a blocked member, simply follow the same procedure, and click “Remove*****”
One problem with the Private Message feature is that while it saves a copy of your Received messages, it doesn't save a copy of those you send. You can compensate for this deficiency by copying your message before clicking the "Send my message" button and saving it in your word processor.
