Baked Steak

2 Rib Eye Steaks (That's the kind I used this time)

Meat Tenderizer

Salt, pepper and garlic powder

2 T Canola Oil or Olive Oil

Sprinkle steaks heavy with meat tenderizer.. let sit for an hour or more..

Rinse off tenderizer... Dry steaks and sprinkle with the salt, pepper and garlic powder. I've never dried meat in my life, but was told by Rachel Ray if you don't dry the meat, you are steaming it, not baking it.

Meanwhile heat the oil in a skillet on high. When hot, add steaks, cover and sear meat first on one side then another, letting both sides brown some.

Place in broiler pan, so grease will cook out and drip to the bottom pan. I lined it with foil for ease of cleaning. I baked at 400* for 40 minutes...We like our meat done, but still juicy and moist.. If you like your's rare... time accordingly.

I also washed, dried and quartered 3 small potatoes, added them to the broiler pan, sprayed them with Canola Oil, salted, peppered and baked those along with the steak. Made a strawberry, avocado, walnut, lettuce, and cottage cheese salad. I added some Berry Flavored Crystal Light and stirred it all together.

That was GOOD eating! Grin..
