Thanks to Betty Lo browsing on the men's forum I will offer up this recipe.
This recipe makes enough for two large square baking dishes and enough sauce to have a meal of spaghetti & meat balls.
Start off early in the morning with your crock pot and add:
a double can of peeled tomatoes
a double can of diced tomatoes
a double can of puree
2 regular cans of tomato paste, not the tiny ones
a whole onion diced
3 table spoons of garlic
1/2 cup Oregano
salt & pepper to taste
Cook all day on high. You sauce in now ready for the Lasaga. It will be rich and not waterery.
Boil noodles for 15 minutes making sure they are not stuck together. Lay out a couple of sheets of wax paper on the counter. When done lay each noodle on the paper to cool about 3 to 5 minutes.
Lay out two to 3 square baking dishes about 3 inches high
1 quart of large curd cottage cheese
1 large bag of mozzarella graded cheese don't scrimp on the cheese, that's what makes it yummy
1 graded can of Parmesan cheese
1 large bag of frozen leaf spinach
Now ladle a couple of scoops of the sauce in the bottom of the glass dishes
Add cottage cheese, doesn't have to be solid
Add mozzarella layer
sprinkle spinach and parmesan cheese over area
cover with a layer of noodles
Do this 2 more times, adding the noodles in between the layers. Be sure not to over do the layers or you will run out of room
spread your ingredients over the two square baking dishes
They are ready for the oven or the freezer. Cover with tin foil to Bake or freeze for a later time.
Now for the bonus. You should have enough sauce left for a nice pot of spaghetti & meat balls.
You can put the sauce in a freezer bag and save it or have it the first night.
Making the meat balls. These meat balls are simple and very good, so try it.
Buy a medium grade of ground beef so you have some grease. Open the ground beef and pull off a chunk large enough to make a 1 to 2 inch ball. One pound should make 8, 2 inch balls. Now heat the fry pan to medium and cook the balls. Be real careful when turning them so they don't fall apart. They need to cook or set a little before you turn them the first time. Keep rotating them until they are done. That's all there is to it, and they are delicious with nothing added. try it to believe it.
Now if you are going to have the spaghetti the first night add the meat balls to the sauce and let simmer until you are ready to eat. There is nothing to cook, they just have to be hot. Add noodles and you are ready.
Hot garlic bread is recommended to go with either of these combination' s. It just makes everything taste better
We love this combination of food because we love Italian , but we limit ourselves to once a month, so we can both stay thin.

You can add meat instead of spinach but the spinach is a lot healthier and very ,very tasty if you like it.
