Congratulations, Irishgirl! I am proud of you!
Bill W had a huge impact on many lives.
I followed his 12 Steps in Overeater's Annonymous and not a bad way to chart your life regardless of any problems.

:) Thank You. The wind is blowing hard here in thre RGV. We have 2 weeks and then we are on the road headed for Colorado. I start getting antsy when I know I am leaving. I am looking forward to the Rockies and the budding of the aspens. Hope all your travels are safe. HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY to all today and hope you are getting all the traditional food. Years ago when Ron and I started going on cruises, I always noticed on the program under meetings: Friends of Bill W. Cruise after cruise Bill W always had meetings. I thought he was some rich dude and treating lots of his friends to cruises also! I finally asked who is this Bill W, and found out!! :) Till another time.....

I just came home for the Doctor. I have Influenza A and feel like I have run over by a Mac truck. Last night I did try the Vicks on the feet trick...think it did help a little. Would love to try a hot toddy but the cough medicine that I was given has codeine so I think I better stay away from alcohol. Guess my Easter weekend is going to be spent in bed. Was told not to try to go back to work until at least Tuesday because many people who have tried to do too much too soon have ended up with pneumonia. dpf

dpf, Listen to your doctor. Where my sister works everyone has been sick off and on and one woman has been down for 3+ weeks and developed pneumonia. Nasty bug!

Yes, do listen to the Dr. If that strain is anything like the one going on around here, if you don't take it easy...you keep having relapses...and are back in bed sick as a dog...AGAIN!!! And some have advanced to pneumonia. Daughter did..

I just had to post about the Vicks on your feet for coughs. Similar strangeness: If you soak your feet in a bleach/water solution, you can taste the bleach! It's weird. I think Accupressure theory is that certain parts of your feet affect other parts of your body, so that may explain how it helps coughing. It may be that you are absorbing it into the skin and then the bloodstream that way. Also, if you do use Vicks on your feet, it will kill any fungus you may have picked up. Really! I guess its the camphor in it??? Potent stuff.
