Quick Fix Apple Pockets
2 apples 2 TBS sugar 1 tsp cinnamon flour for dusting 1 pkg(7.5) refrigerated biscuits Butter or Marg for brushing :)
heat oven to 350, peel apples and grate them in a medium bowl. In a small bowl mix cinnaon and sugar. Add half the cinn/sugar mixture to the apples. Sprinkle some flour down on cutting board or table. Roll each biscuit to about 5 inch circle, spoon apple mixture into biscuit, fold over and pinch edges together with a wet fork to make a half moon. Place on baking sheet. brush pie with butter and sprinkle remaining cin/sugar mixture over them. Bake for 20 min. makes 10 pockets.
I'm sure if you didn't want to grate apples you could use apple pie filling..or even cherry or what ever you liked..just change the sugar mixture...
This is a simple and quick fix when unexpected company comes or if you have a urge for something sweet...

Mmmm. This looks like you could also substitute Splenda for the sugar .... Janice and Bandit the Wonder Dog (Wonder why I got him, Wonder why I keep him ...)

Sounds really good & you could make these in the toaster oven instead of the regular oven----as when we travel I try to use my electric appliances instead of the propane stove & oven! Most men are like parking spaces. All of the good ones are taken, and what's left are handicapped.

Oh, yum, this is a keeper recipe for sure. I'll probably increase the cinammin - lol - but when do I ever keep a recipe as is :)
Thanks, Barbzeee - I think you're right - this one sounds so simple and I could always have the ingredients on hand to throw it together. --------------------------- Once your reputation is ruined, you can live life quite freely :) (old German saying)

I fixed my own version of the apple pockets last night & instead of rolling out the biscuits I worked them like pizza dough with my hands & made them bigger & then I put another biscuit on top--of the apple mixture--& sealed them with a fork--instead of folding it in half------& sealing them. And I put some brown sugar also & a few pieces of broken pecans with the apples--- & I just diced my apples in small pieces instead of grading them! Hubby ate all of them but one--- & I got to have that one------- I'll make them again!!!! Thanks!!!!

If I used pie filling would I elimate the sugar ? You said to change the sugar mixture - how ?! These sound SO good but I know I'm not going to grate apples, I'm a lazy cook. Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are. Trudy, Molly and Murphy

Trudy.. dear..:) If you use Pie filing in which you can use any flavor too.. your choice....unless you use sugar free.. they are sweet enough.. Now that wasn't too bad :)
I can't wait to hear about you making these.. they are simple..and I do up several kinds..cause I always get unexpected company..
Hope you enjoy them...
God Bless

OMG, Barb, I tried these using cherry, not an apple fan, and they were delicious and soooo easy. My kind of baking. Ooh a'la mode. terrific.
