Quick Chili and Torch Bread
My kids invented this recipe when they were young (now 36 and 38) so it's been around a long time and we still love it.... It doesn't sound good but it will surprise you.
And the bread is fun for any responsible kid or handy man who's missing his work shop.
QUICK CHILI 1 can chili NO beans 1 can great northern beans 1 can stewed tomatoes Hot pepper flakes to taste
Simmer at least 10 minutes, the longer the better. The amount of hot pepper flakes we use depends on the season.....
TORCH BREAD (my son came up with this one when we were tent camping in the Smokies and it was a dry year and no fires of any kind were allowed. I happened to have a tool box in the trunk which contained a small propane torch.)
Cut thick slices of bread and butter. Place on tin foil and lay on concrete or gravel, anywhere that won't catch fire and toast it with the torch. Always keep the torch at least several inches from the bread.
