Biscuit Recipe
Here's the famous (or infamous)biscuit recipe. This is my grandma's recipe, and is almost impossible to screw up!
2 C. Self-rising flour 3 TBS. shortening 1 C. milk
Cut shortening into flour with pastry cutter or fork until shortening is about the size of a small pea. Add milk and stir well. Add more flour if needed to make a stiff dough, pat out on floured surface about 1/2" thick. At this point you can either cut into squares with a sharp knife or cut out with a glass or biscuit cutter. Bake at 425 until brown and done.
Or you can add a little extra milk, beat with a fork or spoon, add some grated cheddar cheese and drop by spoonfuls on greased pan. When done, drizzle with melted butter and garlic.
Thank goodness Crisco has finally gotten the word and come out with shortening with no trans-fats!!! 'Bout time! Good Roads, Sharon
