I started that a couple of years ago. You bake a cake mix according to the diredtions on the box. Let it cool until you can handle it. Break it up until it is just crumbs. Take a 14.5 oz container of the ready made frosting and mix it with the cake. You really need to mix well, it will be a gooey mess. Make balls with the cake like you were making meat balls. I make about 1 inch balls but you could make them larger. After I make the balls I put in the refrigerator for a while. The almond bark will stick better if they are cool. You could even freeze them and dip in chocolate later. Take a package of almond bark candy and melt it. I have the best luck putting it in a small shallow pan on low on my electric stove. Don't get in a hurry or you will scorch the candy. If you melt it in the microwave you have to keep heating it. Don't put any water in the almond bark or it will mess it up. Dip the cake balls in the chocolate and let cool on wax paper. I find an ice tea spoon works the best to dip with.
My favorite is a German Chocolate Cake and Coconut Pecan Frosting and dipping in chocolate almond bark. You can make them using any flavor cake and frosting. I tried Strawberry cake and frosting and dipping in the white almond bark but I thought that was too sweet. These come out almost like candy.
My friends expect these for Christmas. Good luck and have fun.
