we ate the chili. So far, 10 hours later... yes it was a late night and an early morning... we are still alive. Froze what we didn't eat. We shall see.
I want to do one of those traveling dinners... come to each of your homes for a meal. You all sound wonderfully creative! Kim Wife to Randy, Mom to Elizabeth (20) and Megan (17)

Last night? We finished up some leftovers from the night before, such as:
sauteed scallops grilled pork fajitas heirloom tomato and cucumber salad guacamole cumin rice and red beans
No, we don't eat well up here at all (NOT)
We have a new group coming today, so Adam is working on small baskets made of Asiago cheese, kind of fried/melted, then draped over a form to harden. He's going to fill them with some kind of salad tonight. For lunch today, he's fixing a three-cheese tortellini dish with some sauce Bolognaise. In self defense, I've started cooking my own 10-grain cereal or oatmeal in the morning. Otherwise I'll look like the Goodyear Blimp!

LOL Yep, you are eating well in the outback! It's hard not to when such great food is so readily available. I put on 5 lbs in a week at a dude ranch in Livingstone, MT. The morning 'cowboy' oatmeal with half and half was to die for! Lenora & Choco

For dinner tonight I had Brookies - Brownie/Cookie combo .. I found them at the store today and somehow they ended up being dinner. My Mom would be so proud - HA !! "If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else." Yogi Berra

Well, I get to go out for dinner tonight to one of my favorite Mexican food places -- Max's. :) They've just relocated & have a brand new restaurant. I'll have my regular soft taco with carne asada, rice & beans. And they always serve chips and salsa. Yummm! The only thing that would make it perfect would be some good dessert. I'm not a fan of their traditional flan, nor do I get excited about fried ice cream. Guess I'll have to save dessert for when I get home. Laura -- and Jed

We had something so delicious--and easy last night. I've never had Asiago cheese in anything other than bread. But here's one to try:
Asiago Cheese Cones
Get a block of fresh Asiago cheese
Grate a bunch of it
Heat up a skillet
Drop in a handful of cheese and spread it around a little, like a little pancake
Kind of fry/melt it a bit
Remove it from the pan with a spatula and immediately drape it over some kind of mold (Adam used a cone-shaped fine strainer)
Let it cool
Before you’re tempted to eat it, make more
He used them to serve a salad made with field greens and tiny tomatoes, dressed with balsamic vinegar and parsley oil (combination of fresh parsley and olive oil, blended in the blender). Put the cheese cone on a plate, pile in some of the salad and let it spread out, kind of like a cornucopia.

Whew! Went into Houston, taking friend Joy with me. We ate at a wonderful chinese buffet and though I didn't refill a plate..(actually sandwhich plate size), I am still full. Will fix Milt something and I'll just continue with refilling my Orange Crystal Light and call that meal.
Enjoy your afternoon all!
