I'm ashamed to say I've never made a pancake or a waffle - are they hard to make ? Isn't the batter just Bisquick or something like that and water ?
I love pancakes and waffles (especially waffles) and would like to make them so thought I'd ask you all how to make them !
Thanks

I bet you are gonna get some great "from-scratch" recipes... but you CAN buy bisquick, which has the recipe on the box OR you can buy other pancake mixes that you just add water or milk to. We like Krusteaz or Arrowhead Mills. They are pretty easy to make from scratch too, but I'd have to get my cookbook out for that.
For waffles, you need a waffle iron... but you can get cute little small ones ;)
Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

I like Krusteaz the best, but I add an egg because I don't like a cake-y pancake, I like them a little firmer. Sometimes I add a little vanilla, too.

I make my pancakes from the low fat Bisquik.
Waffles; I love Krusteaz Belgum Waffle mix. Very good!

Yep love those Krusteaz pancake mix and add a little bit of oil to the mix and like Sharon I love to add Vanilla. We put ours in a small round waffle maker. I would love to have the flip Belgum waffle ones but too big and bulky in the RV. LOVE strawberries and whip cream on mine!!

When making pancakes I throw in some frozen blueberries on each pancake when it is cooking. Sharon when I flip my pancakes I flatten them so they are not thick.
If I have to use syrup I HAVE to have Mrs. Butterworth's

I buy frozen and pop them in the toaster or microwave.
But back when I used to make a batter I liked the
Krusteaz mix the best. Whether you make a waffle or
a pancake, its the same batter. One of my favorite
things to do is to fry an egg, over easy and toss
it between two pancakes, or I've been known to do
it as an omelette and use the pancakes as a sandwich.
Ok, now you did it, I'm hungry and thinking of a
fried egg and my favorite is topped over enchiladas.

Be careful of the sodium content of the bisquick. I use the aunt jemimah because it doesn't contain as much salt.

Also heard a warning about expiration dates on pancake mix or Bisquick......some people have gotten sick on old mixes that have been sitting around too long.
