If it was good enough for the Donner Party it's good enough for me!. Oh, that was terrible. I'm right ashamed of myself. As a southern friend once said, she was so nasty she'd have to pay Pallbearers to carry her at her funeral. Okay, this is not a recipe request, but it is a pattern request. I've discovered I like knitting in the RV. I'm involved with a group that helps the homeless and I'm looking for a pattern for simple stocking caps, that a man would wear. All I've found so far are ladies stylish hats. I'd aprecciate it.

I don't knit...so can't help! However, wonder if you couldn't put this as a request in a New Topic in the regular Forum, and not hidden in recipes...
These ladies are MOST kind and helpful...and would fall all over themselves, rushing to help you with patterns.. They are all GOOD PEOPLE!!!

M-m-m-m sounds like true "sole food" I couldn't help saying that. I too love true southern corn bread and bean soup. Calicogirl

Can't knit or crochet....Started a baby blanket when pg with my daughter back in 1969, it's about 1ft X 1ft and in a drawer somewhere in the bedroom! Can't sit that long, get bored. Unless I have a good book or good company. Good Roads, Sharon

If you don't have a pizza stone (they're pricey), pick up a 12"x12" porcelin floor tile at Home Depot or Lowes for under $2. Mine works GREAT!
I am an avid knitter and I've been teaching it here at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park, our winter homebase. I highly recommend Lion Brand Yarns website and their weekly online newsletter. http://www.lionbrand.com Coats & Clark also has a good website (I used to design for them waaaaaay back in the 70s). http://www.coatsandclark.com/
The Seamen's Church in New York has volunteers who knit for merchant seamen at sea during Christmas. Their patterns are famous, and I just love knitting them. I made 42 scarves for our homeless shelter in Maine a couple of years ago! They have a nice simple pattern for a watch cap, too. http://www.seamenschurch.org/cas.htm
Happy baking and knitting! :)

Thank you for those websites. I'll check them out. I went on the Lion Brand page, but I didn't realise they had a newsletter. I'll go back and sign up. I need a new pattern to do. I've done 20 Hats for the Homeless and can kmit them in my sleep now. So something new would be good.
