Thanks Sheila! I can't believe this forum has slowed down! Wow it seemed like it was so active when I dropped off the face of the earth for awhile.
Life happens you know:) Our kids moved back home from Colorado (they said that we neglected to inform them that yes...they did live in paradise in FL) and after a year and a very bad winter in Col, they are back! We had downsized, sold the house, bought the RV, was settling nicely into our retirement when, boom, two twenty something year olds move back...note to self....when downsizing, buy a one bedroom, one bath! But, all is good really. They both landed good jobs, one recently moved out (drum roll please) and the other is starting to look for an apartment...all is good.
Actually it did work out, we had house sitters when we travelled and we enjoyed lots of laughs...should we talk about our food bill? Lets not, but we did charge them rent and all is one with the world.
Back in March 2010 I had back surgery that was not done properly (I'm trying to be nice here). This past March, I finally went outside our area, got a great Dr who was able to fix my back and I am good as new!! He did an amazing job and he did say that I was really screwed up (hardware was all lose, therefore my pain level never left) In that one year, we did travel to Maine, up the east coast and local places, but the Airstream got to much for me, setting up, all the bending just wasn't cutting it. We found an buyer from Ohio and now 'Belle is on the road again.
We have missed our RV so this weekend we are caving in and looking at a gently used Forest River Lexington Class B+, some sites say Class C, but whatever, I hope its as good as it looks on the net and what the owners have told us... we'll see. Need something to fit well with our Labs, our boy dog, Tank (yup...lives up to his name, more like Marmaduke tho) is 100 lbs and his sister is, Roxy...well she asked me not to reveal her weight, but needless to say, she doesn't miss a meal :) It was a tight fit in the trailer, so we are hoping for a little more room, and no, the beds are not for them (so they think!)
Well, I think I've pretty much played catch up for the past year or so. For those of you that live in constant pain for whatever reason, I can now relate. The year after my first surgery was spent in lots of pain that I believed I just needed to put up with. The doctor was quick to write pain meds for me, hated it, thru them in the trash and finally found a doctor who could help...restored my faith! I'm pain free, ready to hit the road again. I have to say, that I have the best husband in the world, couldn't have gone thru the past year or so without him...he is amazing!
So...now ladies, please play catch up with me...whats been going on in your lives? Always looking for great places to visit!
Come on, lets play catch up...
