Hi Everybody: Glad to find this site. Thanks, Jomilt.
A little about me... I'm 69 and retired from state employment. My first husband and I did quite a bit of RVing with our children and I always liked it. After he passed away, I continued for a time but with work and a new marriage didn't go out much. I'm divorced now with a wonderful significant other who is still working and not able to travel much but we have hopes of heading out together soon.
I bought my RV about 4 years ago. Saw a Winnebago Rialta at a dealer and thought that looks right for me. Didn't want to pay new price so started looking for a good used one. Not many to be found on the west coast (I live just north of Seattle, WA) so went on eBay. Lo and behold, there they were! After much thinking and comparing I finally started bidding on a 98 model with just 12000 miles and a few days later I was on my way to Pennsylvania to pick it up. I really enjoyed my solo trip back across the US and now wish I'd taken more time and seen more of the east coast. I've taken several trips to Nevada and California and this past May my 82 year old sister and I took a month long trip through Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and southern California before heading home. We had a wonderful time, stopping at lots of thrift stores and seeing many sights.
Right now I'm on a cross country trip driving a Rialta from Florida to Washington for some friends. They too were unable to find one on the west coast and finally, via the internet, found just the model they wanted. The man has a heart condition, however, and didn't want to head out on a cross country trip so they asked me if I would drive it home for them. Who could say not to an offer like that? Will try to tune in to the discussion today....
