Hi Everybody: Glad to find this site. Thanks, Jomilt.

A little about me... I'm 69 and retired from state employment. My first husband and I did quite a bit of RVing with our children and I always liked it. After he passed away, I continued for a time but with work and a new marriage didn't go out much. I'm divorced now with a wonderful significant other who is still working and not able to travel much but we have hopes of heading out together soon.

I bought my RV about 4 years ago. Saw a Winnebago Rialta at a dealer and thought that looks right for me. Didn't want to pay new price so started looking for a good used one. Not many to be found on the west coast (I live just north of Seattle, WA) so went on eBay. Lo and behold, there they were! After much thinking and comparing I finally started bidding on a 98 model with just 12000 miles and a few days later I was on my way to Pennsylvania to pick it up. I really enjoyed my solo trip back across the US and now wish I'd taken more time and seen more of the east coast. I've taken several trips to Nevada and California and this past May my 82 year old sister and I took a month long trip through Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and southern California before heading home. We had a wonderful time, stopping at lots of thrift stores and seeing many sights.

Right now I'm on a cross country trip driving a Rialta from Florida to Washington for some friends. They too were unable to find one on the west coast and finally, via the internet, found just the model they wanted. The man has a heart condition, however, and didn't want to head out on a cross country trip so they asked me if I would drive it home for them. Who could say not to an offer like that? Will try to tune in to the discussion today....

Judy A, you are living my dream. I delivered several of my RV's to the buyers. A trailer to San Diego and a MH to a couple several hours from here. Most people think I am crazy, but I enjoy the trip and like seeing the new owners faces when their new baby comes in the driveway! I've even gotten my sister and mom to go on a couple trips... they tended to get a little white in the face at the gas pumps when it was their turn to buy!! HAH!!!

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum. Great group of women!

Hi Judy! Good to see you here--- I'm glad you made the jump from Facebook to our Forum.. We're happy to have you!

How interesting you found your RV in PA....and went after it, driving it back to WA state, and now you are bringing another one home from FL for friends. I don't blame you for not turning down a trip like that!! Be my kind of doings, for sure!! Neat month long trip you and your sister enjoyed thru several states too.

You wrote an interesting intro letter, and it's evident you'll be a worthy and enjoyable addition to our list of Forum Sisters!!!

Welcome Aboard!!!

Joella

Welcome Judy! You sound as if you are making your life work much to your liking! I love the idea of delivering rigs - that would be wonderful! I suppose new owners wouldn't much like it if I brought my two furbabies along - and they would have to come. Oh well.

I'm a single, full timer as well. Based in Bend, OR, but currently living with friends near San Diego for at least part of the winter. It's been quite the adventure! The gals here are wonderful. A great group for tech info, and for general camaraderie. We're the best! LOL

Hi Judy...was just wondering how the trip went? Did you make more time to do some sightseeing as you drove all across the US? Care to share any pics you may have taken...we all love pictures of trips here especially if it gives ideas of places we can visit ourselves in the future!
