Hi,

  I'm a recently divorced 53 year old woman, who has been dreaming of full-time rving for a long time. I would rather engage in this life's journey with a partner, preferably a woman, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere I can find, for RVer's to meet other single RVer's to travel. Are there any sites like that? It would be a full-time thing, woking as necessary, but life's journey is so much more fun with a friend!!

 Welcome Clouddancerss!

There are plenty of singles groups out there, typically under the umbrella of a parent RV organization. I know the Escapees has a singles group as well as RVing Women. There is also WIN (Wandering Individuals Network) 

The key is to find someone who also wants a traveling partner and one who is compatable to hang around with.

Welcome to our Forum!  So glad to have you drop by.  It's my hope you'll make this a long time stay.

If I wished to find a traveling buddy, I'd think the first thing would be to buy a RV and join the organizations Sharon spoke of, go to some Rallies and get to know others.  In that way you may find someone you like, feel comfortable with and could travel with. 

I'd think it would be difficult to "hook up" with someone on paper. 

We on this Forum have occasional Rallies, and have gotten to know each other well.  For myself, I'd prefer to caravan travel with someone....but have my own RV unit to retreat to and settle in for the night.  All my life, the late evening hours has been "my time", with kids and DH and the girls (two 2 year old dachshund pups) tucked into bed...and I enjoy that alone, me time!  That way, I'm not bothered by man nor beast....and can really kick back and enjoy!

Welcome !  So glad you joined us.

I'm 50 and travel with my dog and my cat - there have been times when I wish I had someone with me, but for the most part I'm OK alone.  I've met people along the way and made a couple of good friends.  Full Timing alone isn't for everyone though so I hope you can find someone to travel with.  I know the Workamper forum has a single section and I think there's a "looking for travel partner" section in their magazine, you might want to check them out.

Can't remember what the others have said (I'm tired - sorry ... HA) But there's LOW (loner on wheels) you could check them out too - maybe do a google search with "women rv" and you'll get a bunch of hits - gotta be something there :D

Come back to us often - keep us posted on your dream and I hope to see you out on the road someday real soon !!!

Oh - where are you at ?  Maybe there are some members close by and you could start by meeting some of them !!!

Hi Clouddancerss,

I was poking around on google and came across this site, and couldn't believe it when I read your post--I could have written it myself! I'm a 50-year-old woman who's got the same dream. I've made some contact with Women RVers (very nice people!) and have done some looking at RVs and at the Workkamper ads, but haven't made the leap yet.

If you're open to it, I'd be interested in talking with you, either by email or phone, to see if we might have more in common. I'm new to this forum too, so I don't know the best way to make contact. Just to be clear, I'm looking for a travel partner, not a life partner...I agree that the whole adventure would be a lot more fun with a friend to share it with!

Welcome to the forum - I hope you and Clouddancerss can "talk" !!!

I'm 50 and travel with my dog and cat - there are times when I wish I had someone with me, it gets a little lonely sometimes and I get a little tired of doing everything myself, but then again I've been single for darn near my whole life so I'm used to it.  I've met some nice people along the way and can usually get a human "fix" when I need it.

Welcome to both of you!  :)

I think you're going to find lots of single women doing the RV thing all by themselves.  I'm single, too, and travel in a 19' hybrid ("expandable") trailer with my 70# Lab, Jed.  What I enjoy is finding a group of people to meet with, but not feeling like I'm obligated to do everything with them.  I've gotten involved in a couple of groups -- one strictly for women, and the other a very ecclectic group that is largely families but still incredibly welcoming.  LOVE them both.

Please feel free to ask questions, PM various members that have posted things you'd like to discuss further, and even visit us in our chat room.  There's a separate thread for that on the main page, so check it out & join us some evening.  We'd love to visit with you!
