Thought I'd introduce myself as I just joined. I am not new to RV's but am new to the full-timing lifestyle! Well - new as in not quite there yet! I own a retail store that has had a very rocky first year. I've also ended up recently filing for permanent disability due to an auto-immune and back issues. We'll see how that shakes out. I can't really do what I've always done, so.......hoping the store survives as I am forced to move on. Given that, I can't sit for long right now either! That HAS to get fixed or I'm really sunk.
I am pretty much bailing on everything I've ever held near and dear - like all the 'stuff' in my 2700 sf house! Yikes! A dear friend is coming to help me pack - and decide what gets stored and what just goes.
My 25 year old is upset by all of this, as I've been the 'go to' house - for holidays and such. I'm hoping as time goes on she'll come to grips with all of it. Of my three, she's the one who calls me everyday on her way home from work - I've pointed out she can still do that! We live in the same state now, but several hours apart.
OK - more than any of you wanted to know! LOL I'm planning to live in my 26' GMC that my Dad renovated before he passed away. Well - me and my two Cavaliers. I plan to dump my SUV and get a Saturn Vue or something similar to tow behind. My travel plans are to be someplace warmer than freezing in the winter, and someplace temperate in the summer. I suspect Texas in the winter and Corvallis OR in the summer - at least for now. I have a 'friend' who is living in his Tioga and we may tour around in tandem. Right now I'm not sure how the adventure will shape up - but what an adventure it'll be!
I can't wait to share everyone's adventures - and I'm so relieved that you all seem to have had good experiences on the road. I'm not a scaredy cat but I've read a few books that have me actually skittish about my safety and security. I still trust my fellow men and women! Thanks for helping restore that.

Welcome to the forum !
Sounds like you have allot of changes coming up - I hope things so smoothly for you.
How nice that you can live in the GMC your Dad renovated. That's really cool :D
I'd guess your kids will adapt to the changes you're making - it's hard when you realize your parents are actual people with lives that do not revolve are you ! HA !!!
Good luck and I hope you post often to share your RV experience, to keep us posted on what you're up to and to just have fun !!!

Looking forward to hearing how everything goes. Takes a lot of "guts" to make that jump, so seems to me you will do just fine on the road. Won't know til you try it and nothing is in cement. We also had a large house with stuff. Tried to get my DH to get rid of most everything when we sold it, but instead have been paying for storage for 3 years. Hopefully this year I can convince him. Obviously don't need it and haven't missed it. Luckily our son was very supportive, even though he was sad to see "his" house sold. And yep, we are nosy and want pictures. carold ;p

All right - HOW do I insert pics? I'd be happy to! Although - she looks pretty pristine right now ( my Dad was a real minimalist) and I suspect when I'm actually living in her, she's going look a lot different! :)
See, I can add an emoticom - just how do I insert pics?

Kerry,
under the "help" topic is a post "how to post pictures" that should explain it all ! It can be a bit of a chore to get pics posted at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad :D
Good luck
