Hello everyone, sorry am long in sharing. Life sure does take up a lot of your time :) Anyway, the camp trip was awesome. I'm still excited. I rented the Class C from CruiseAmerica and went to one of the State Park campgrounds and spent 3days. I learned quite a bit, and dumping was a sinch. When the water started overflowing from the back of the RV, it dawned on me, time to dump...duhhh! :quest: My sister and I toured the park on foot at night w/our flashlihts and came across a skunk...ewww! I told her don't move and let it pass.
It was like a party out there people with the lights all around their RV and campfires going. I had a blast. What an experience and can't wait to do it again. I have pics & will upload them soon as I can. Also, I'm strongly considering purchasing a '92 Class C, Coachman Catalina that I have my eye on. It's been well kept and has 77k miles. I'm going to take a look in person next week. I welcome your opinion about the RV I'm thinking about buying.
I'm no longer a newbie...yeah....woohoo!
Talk soon.
J. ;)

I'm glad your first camping experience was so good. As for buying a 1992 motorhome I will give you some things to consider. I am on my 4th class C so I have had some experience with them. My 3rd motorhome was a 1992 Alegro Bay that I loved the floor plan but in 2006 when it was 14 years old and had 88,000 miles I traded for 2002 Coach House Platinum. It still looked good but I was always having some small problem and I was afraid to get too far from home. A motorhome has the problems of a house and a vehicle. Going down the road is hard on all these systems. A motorhome that old will probably need a new set of tires even though they look good. A new set of tires is going to be over $1000.00. Motorhome tires usually age out not wear out. There is a code on tires that tell you the year they were made.
Another thing that is being talked about now is that some campgrounds won't let an RV in that is over 10 years old. I never had that problem but I have heard that some people have. It probably happens at the fancy resorts.
Hope this helps.
Martha

Glad to hear that you and your sister had so much fun camping. I miss having my sister close enough to go camping with. So have you been out RV shopping yet? :) Alice
