Hi everyone, I am brand new to the forum. Within the next 3 months I will become a fulltimer in a 5ver. I'm single... and a lesbian. Do you know of any way to meet people when it is a mobile lifestyle? I guess the same thing can be said for straight folks, young and hoping to meet someone special one day.

Welcome Raptortwo ! Glad you joined us. I'm just starting out on a fulltime life. For the last several weeks I've been parked close to home so I could get moved in etc. I've chatted with many nice people. There's always someone to talk with. As far as meeting people to hang with or travel with, I'd guess you might want to join a single RV'er group or if you're in a place for a few weeks you could go to a nearby town and explore options there - maybe you have a hobby and that would help you meet people, something like a book club or crafting or bicycling - I'd think you could find a store specializing in whatever it is you enjoy and find people there. I'm not looking to meet anyone (date wise) so I don't know how you'd hook up with someone for dating other then joining singles RV groups. I know they're out there. Enjoy the forum and good luck with becoming a fulltimer ! What type of 5er do you have ? Where are you from ? Are you going to work ? We love details !!! edited to correct spelling

If you do a search on google you can find groups...I have heard of Rainbow rvers. so that is one group you could research! Alice

Oh - I wanted to add, if you just want to meet people in the campground to chat with, get a dog ! I've met so many people when I'm out walking my dog Molly !! I think she has more friends then I do - HA !! People walk by us and say "Hi Molly" all the time, I don't think they even know my name :D Trudy, Molly & Murphy "Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

Welcome raptortwo! The Escapees Rv Club has a BOF ( Birds of a feather ) group called "STONEWALL". It welcomes all gays, lesbians,bi's,trans and their friends. An informal group that gathers at Escapades,Pride events and Quartzsite, Arizona in January. Communications are done online so they can meet each other as travels allow. No dues, no newsletters,, just good times with great people. I can PM you the contact people if interested.

This is so cool, thank you everyone! (feels goosebumps like a little kid)
I've got a Bristol Bay and lovin it. Me and 4 cats. The suggestion of me walking a dog out to meet folks is moot, except for the fact that I love dogs. At my apartment complex, I used to see and pet the dogs people would walk, and they all knew me. My main alpha cat will not allow a dog. He sniffed me with great disgust when I returned from petting the dog of a neighbor. So if I get to a place, I can put a sign up that says "My cat won't allow me a dog, can I pet yours?"

My three cats sniff me galore after I have petted someone elses pet and then give me the snob routine afterwards too. The boys are territorial so no dogs in the cat house or other cats. I think my cats have been to more places than most people! We have a sign we put up at our motorhome " Please don't let the cat out no matter what it tells you" I have a lock on the screen door because I do have a 25 lb Houdini and he does escape if it is unlocked!!

I know I'm responding a month late, but I just joined & found your post. Look into RVing Women; I just got back from the national convention & they are a great bunch of women! Most are gay, lots are couples, but there are a lot of singles too. There are also straight members but nobody cares what you are! This was my first activity to attend & they were all so warm & welcoming & so much fun. They have chapters in the different states (TX is the Ramblin' Roses) & they get together every month. Check out the website! Liz & Jack(4 legged)
