I hope I am posting this correctly. Hi, everyone! My name is Lori. I am from Michigan. I just purchased my first TT. It is a 1972 Jayco. Discovering it needs more work than I had anticipated but I guess that what happens when you learn the hard way. I am a single mother trying to introduce my children to a new world. We've been having fun so far. Just enjoyed a weekend at a campground in Wheatley, Ontario. What a blast!!!
I am so glad that I found this forum. So many people told me I am adventurous because many women won't do these types of things by themself. I am surprised. I'm just glad that I have more sisters to discuss it with. I am excited. Any pointers will be appreciated!!!!

Hi Lori! So glad to have you join us. We all are full of information, and if you have any questions ask away and you'll get a bevy of gals answering you.
Just plumb neat you are leading your children to the world of camping. We raised ours camping, traveling, boating, swimming, motorcycling and they still talk "travel memories" to this day and laugh over the memories.
We have a Jayco trailer too.
DD always talked about studying things and places in school, and she'd been there.
You'll be giving them fun and a wealth of knowledge through travels.

Hi Lori,
Congratulaltions and welcome!! I'm a newbie too, just got my TT at the beginning of the month and haven't yet gone out on a trip.
I, as a kid, loved to go out with my parents. One trip was two weeks from LA, to Sequoia Nat'l Forest to Yosemite Nat'l Park over the San Francisco and then down the Pacific Coast Hwy to LA (my Dad was a Marine stationed in So. Ca at the time).
It's a trip that I remember to this day and I was really glad we did it. It was the fond memory of that trip that caused me to get my own TT and I completely understand about people thinking it's odd that a single woman would want to do this. 'Fraid we still have to deal with some rather old-fashioned ideas of what a woman can do and can't do by her self.
But look at the role model you are to your kids! You are showing them that gender has no bearing on your own personnel goals & limits. Only you can do that, not what sex you were born as.
