I just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself. I'm happy to have found this site since I travel alone. I was begining to think I was the only one out there who does this. Now I have reassurance I'm not crazy.
Im a single 28 year old and work as a traveling emergency room nurse. I have a 36 foot Bighorn 5th wheel that I pull with my 3/4 ton diesel pickup. I bought this setup september 2005. My hometown is New Richmond, WI. Since buying my trailer I have pulled it to Ft. Myers, FL for the winter and back to New Richmond for the summer. Last December I did a road trip to CA but got stuck in an ice storm for 5 days in Okalahoma and ended up going back to Wisconsin. I am leaving for my next adventure Thursday. I'm headed to Easton, PA for 13 weeks. My trailer has been sitting for ~ 1 year so I'm sure my backing up skills are a bit rusty to say the least...watchout if you plan on being on the road this weekend!

where are my jammies and remote?

Welcome!
That's a mighty big rig! The biggest 5th we ever had was a 32'. And they are so much nicer these days. I have another rv forum friend who does that same thing with a motorhome. She enjoys that type of career. It must be fun to be able to pick where you want to go to work!
Glad you found us!

Welcome Nyco, I'm glad to see YOU had enough sense to turn back in bad weather. I could learn from you. Please continue to post and tell us about your job when you get there. On this Forum we are interested in everything, not just RV issues. I'm sure we would be facinated by your reports.

Wow - Everyone is so friendly here! I will keep everyone up todate on my travels.
Sharon - one can always use a friend while on the road...maybe you can give me some tips on things to do in PA. I'll p.m. ya when I get settle and figure out my schedule.
I will hit the road bright and early...well before noon at least. I'll try to check in tomorrow night.

Welcome!
I thought I might be the young one here. You got it made. I am just starting out after leaving the F&B management position I was in. I will be in my rig in mid July. After a well deserved respite at the families home in Orlando I will be heading outwith my kids, 2 cats, and our dog. We oficially start our odyssey in November. I plan to be in Key West on the beach for Christmas just to contrast our last holiday with 4 feet of snow in Vermont.

Welcome to this great forum. I am a retired ER nurse and wished many times I could have traveled as you are. Wonderful you are doind it at your age. Wow. Best wishes along the road.
Also, I'm from Philadelphia originally so would suggest you see the city primarily known for it's historical places - Indpendence Hall, Liberty Bell, Betsy Rosses house, Art Museum, etc. They have horse drawn carriages that take you around downtown. You may be able to take a train from Easton to Phillie. In central Pa, you have the Amish country, Lancaster county, Hershey - quaint places to see if you like that sort of thing.
Enjoy and keep us posted.
