Okay - as you all know I'm 1 month away from picking up the new TT. What do I "really" have to buy? We met the Sth. FL Chapter group from Good Sam yesterday, nice people...but they were showing us all kinds of stuff to buy. (Keep in mind we're "workin" people) They said to get adapters, extention cords, sewer hoses (BTW where and how do you store them Are they clean?), special toilet paper, awning tie downs and clips for the wind. My hubby "down the road" (get it) wants a Honda generator. Thanks, gals (all of your info has been terrific - I've checked out stuff you've all written back a year ago too!!) 30 days and counting! EXCITING!!
DH installed a piece of PVC under our RV, attached with brackets for storing the dirty sewer hose. Most RV's have a storage area, some in a hollow back bumper, but he didn't want ours IN a compartment of the trailer. The back end has a cap glued on it, and the front has a removable cap for insertion of the hose.
As far as RV toilet paper, it is expensive and we have used Scott's for years. It's written on the packaging that it is good for septic tanks and RV's.
We don't own tie downs for the awning. We've seen a very well secured awning torn loose and flipped up over the RV in a tangled mass of twisted metal, necessitating purchase of a new one. Winds can do strange things and it is simply safest to roll in the awning.
You will find electrical adapters, a good heavy duty extension cord and a good sewer hose handy. Usually, the one that comes with the RV is "thin".
Great you are reading the archives of our Forum! There is a wealth of information to be mined from here!
You might wish to post all future threads in the Open Talk area. It is more widely read by the girls, and this newbies is basically for newcomers to introduce themselves.
Have a wonderful day! :)

Surge protectors, where do they go? Near to where you plug the camper to the CG electric? If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.

Sometimes, the only right answer is silence...which in and of itself speaks a thousand words.
