WE DID IT - WE PUT OUR DEPOSIT DOWN ON OUR 28' COACHMAN - GUESS I'M SOON TO BE THE OWNER OF MY VERY FIRST RV. MY QUESTION IS WE'RE BUYING IT IN MARYLAND AND WE LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA - THE CLOSEST COACHMAN DEALER IS ABOUT 80 MILES AWAY TO DO ANY WARRANTY SERVICE. HAVE YOU HAD ANY PROBLEMS GETTING YOUR SERVICE DONE NOT IN THE PLACE YOU BOUGHT IT? I'M SOOOO EXCITED I COULD JUMP HOOPS!!! Congratulations, Leslie! My first TT was a Coachmen and we really enjoyed it. It's so exciting to get your first RV! You will have so many wonderful times and memories.
I had to take my Class B in for some warranty work and took it to a dealer in a different state and had no problem whatsoever. Wherever the next year takes you...enjoy the ride

Forgot to ask a question? Are you going to be able to spend a night in it where you bought it to find out any problems that could be fixed before you take it home? Our local dealers usually have buyers spend the night at a local campground to learn the systems etc. and find problems before they take delivery. Wherever the next year takes you...enjoy the ride

Congratulations !!! How exciting :D I'm sure you'll enjoy your RV !! Yee Ha !!!!!!!! Margie, I like the idea of spending the night close by the dealer, maybe even spend a long weekend. Write stuff down when you do the walk though or better yet videotape it. I didn't when we got the first motohome and for 3 yrs I thought my water heater under the sink was only propane and it had a switch that I did hear about that was also electric...and no it was not in the owners manuel. They put the switch under a compartment and you had to be a contortionist to get to it!!

Congratulations, Leslie!!!
Don't worry about warranty work. Most of our repairs have been done by dealers in other states, as we were traveling. In a pinch, Camping World has gotten permission to do some of it, even though they are not a dealer for my brand of RV.
Nearly all our RV's have been purchased far from home. We are retired and we can go far distances to save money!!
Good idea to "try it out" in the dealer's parking lot overnight.
It is REALLY a good idea to video tape the walk through! There are SO many details and being your first RV, and not accustomed to what the ho-ho they are talking about, that video will be invaluable!!
Know you can hardly wait to see your family and to pick up your new RV!!

we have never had a problem getting service anywhere. Most places we have gotten service were very helpful! Home is where my hubby and my heart is!
