Welcome Yukon! Don't worry about all of us, we were all newcomers at one time. I'm still learning how to post photos! ;)
I would spend this coming long dark winter doing lots and lots of homework on campers, makes, styles, etc. And find what you think will be right for you. Of course after over 30 years and having owned many rigs I'm still in my never-ending quest for the "perfect" rig,... hee hee... I can't drive by an rv lot without stopping to look to see what's new and interesting.
We're glad you are with us, keep posting, you are doing FINE! Cedar Adirondack Mts. in NY '02 Ford Escape '04 Chalet Arrowhead (C-->)

Hey Yukon - stop in the RV lot and just look ! I've been to the good one here in town 4 times just looking. I tell the sales people that I'm trying to decide what I want and I want to look in all of them so they kind of leave me alone to look. The first time I went the saleslady went into each type with me and explained the difference then told me to just wander around so I did. So far I was going to get a class C, then a 5th wheel, then a Class A, then a C then a 5'er then an A It's a tough decision ! Have fun with it Molly, Murphy and Me are ready to be free !!!

Hi Yukon! Welcome to the site! I'm still a wannabe - 55 and widowed two years, trying to retire but still have DD to support through college.
Your situation reminds me so much of the Maxie McNabb books by Sue Henry - RVing around the country in the winter, living at her home in Alaska in the summer.
Anyway, hope you find what you want and can hit the road. Leslie

welcome Yukon!! this is a great forum to learn stuff and really friendly. I've found the best time to shop is when you don't have the money, at least for me it is, cause then I can see everything available and do all the research and know exactly what I want when I have the money, and when I'm ready. I've actually got my rv, its a 5er but I'm shopping and doing research for a truck to pull it with. I'm pretty much planted permanent in the park I'm in for the time being. Ask all the questions ya need to. We also enjoy pictures, and most of us travel with our furkids so we like to hear about them too. What kind is Gus? Hi! I am new to this forum tonight. I am renting my home and purchasing a motor home to travel in for a year or longer....who knows! I am 61 and have a cocker poo and 2 cats for company. It's a little intimidating and I was searching the internet tonight looking for other single women RVers out there who can offer reassurance. I sold antique adirondack rustic furniture and the auctioneer picked it all up yesterday. That was sad afte 25 years of collecting and selling. Now I am about to be certified as a dog trainer and hope to offer classes along my journey. Do you think there might be a need for that? Home Away Dog Trainer

Hi - welcome to the forum ! You may want to start a separate thread so people are sure to see your posts. I would think a traveling dog trainer could find work. I'm not sure how much work, but you could at least work at a business for a few months in different places. Good luck with your journey ! Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are. Welcome CW. I travel fulltime, just work in the summer and play all winter. It is a wrench selling all your stuff, but it's surprising how little you miss it after its gone. I was in the Antique business and I must confess I kept my Corbel Bed. I had to have a small storage unit anyway for the stuff I want my son to have when he comes out of the Air Force. I've also been involved with dogs all my life. Breeding, Showing and Pets. I had a dog grooming shop at one time. The only problem I can see with your plan is how to get in touch with your potential customers. Heaven knows there is a need for your services as some people don't have a clue. but how will they know you are out there. Most of the campgrounds, when they offer lessons on anything, expect them to be free. At least that has been my experience. Anybody got any ideas?

Welcome CW. Don't know how much money you could make, but surely you could find places to do dog training. Perhaps if you selected an RV park where RVers go for the winter months you could offer a program right at the RV park. Or, perhaps at local pet stores.
Good luck on making your plans for hitting the road one day. Wherever the next year takes you...enjoy the ride
