Thanks everybody for the advise and for sharing your stories. I know I can do this, it's just so dang much info that I freak myself out !!! It's such a big step for me to retire, sell most all my stuff and go !
it's really out of character - at least the character i've been for the last 49 years. I think the real me is just waiting to bust out and the me i've been is fighting her ! (makes me sound a little crazy - yikes)
Thanks !!!!!!

Well, my vote is for the "Real Me" to win! Just take it one step at a time and you'll be an old hand at it before you know it!

first let me say welcome
I did the information overload thing for awhile but
now I'm all calmed down and take stuff as it comes.
But I did spend the last 3 years getting rid of everything I owned and bought this fifth wheel in march. I live in it full time but I haven't taken
it on the road yet. But that is coming, with the purchase of a truck soon and a little overtime for
some gas money, I'll take a weekend trip somewhere.

not to do by doing. (see my post Lesson learned the hard way)

I read your "lessons learned the hard way" post and thought it was wonderful how you did that fix on your own. Guess that's the way to do it, just dive in and figure it out. I'm sure you could have done without the shower at 4am ! HA
I'm kind of over my "freak out" - I'm sure I'll have lots more before and after I drive away, but I plan to keep moving forward - no other choice really !!!
Thanks !

Hi Molly,
Depending on what type of rig you get, you may not need to know alot of the things you are reading about. Once you decide on what you are going to get, you can just focus on your own needs. It's great to know that information is out there and available if you do need it later.
Do you have a genereal idea of what kind of rig you'd like to get?
Love,
Sharon

Hey there Seeya_gal, I was just looking at the Life on Wheels site for 2008 and since I always like to look at the photo galleries, I came across what looks like a picture of you and your DH. Picture 44 of 44, at the AZ rally. I'm going to see if I can go this year to the AZ one, as I feel it would be very beneficial to hear from the experts. Will you two be going this year to the AZ and ID ones.?

Hi Sprinter !
I'm thinking of getting a class C Motorhome. I don't think I want to go over 28' - I think that's more then enough to handle, expecially once I add the toad I'll be approx a million miles long - HA
I'll just be me and my little dog, Molly, so we don't need a ton of room. My biggest qualification is I want a separate shower, I don't want the "wet room" type bathroom. other then that, I'm open to any type of motorhome.

I share your "overwhelmedness". But then I remember times when I took on a job assignment (I was consulting at the time) and I didn't know much about the situation, but I figured out! I look at it this way - if we want to make the change bad enough, we'll figure it out!

That sounds great Molly!
You won't have a bit of a problem finding a Class C with a full size shower.
Have fun picking one out, I am excited for you! :)

Sharon
