Hello
Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I have been reading and learning a great deal from you all and I thank you for that.
I am Sharon Souter from Womelsdorf, PA. Born and bred into camping. My parents currently fulltime in a huge diesel pusher. I am envious and live vicariously through their travels. Now, it's my turn.
I just purchased a Roadtrek Agile SS on Weds. She is sweet and drives like a dream :) Although small for most people, I love cozy and am just as content pitching a tent at the beach. However, I need something substantial to live in.
My plan is to go full time in Oct 2008 when my apartment lease is up. I want to travel across country to CA then back to TX to domicile. I have been all up and down the east coast, but have never been out west. Pennsylvania winters are beautiful, but I'd like to make this my last cold year.
I'm 44 and not old enough to retire, so I will have to work to support my lifestyle as an RN. I realize I will be more stationary than most, but that's Ok. I can still explore different areas of the country on my days off, so that works for me.
I look forward to socializing with you all.
Thanks for reading, Sharon 2007 RoadTrek SS-Agile

Hello
Welcome Sharon and congratulations on your purchase! My dream is to own a Roadtrek and I hope to find a used one in the fall. I love the Northern CA and Oregon coast but have never been East, I would like to some day.
Happy trails!

Hello
Welcome,Sharon to our Forum...I'm so glad that after a while of reading on here... you decided to post and let us get to know you.
I know there is a real need for those in the Nursing field...My DH talked to a young man in the RV park we were in..He and his wife both were "traveling nurses"...and the money was FAR better than working in a hospital on a regular basis.. They were given a housing allowance and that allowed them to buy their motorhome cheaper than rentals and having to physically box up belongings and move often..they just unplugged and drove away into the sunset!! LOL...
But, you know all that!! I'm from Texas and hope you do get to our state..I think you'll enjoy it.. Being from Pennsylvania...you'll really enjoy our mild winters in the southern part of our state..
Happy RVing in your Roadtrek!! Keep coming back and posting! Joella everyday I learn something, everyday I forget something , Maximum memory has been reached !

Hello
Hi and welcome Sharon. What an adventure you have ahead of you. I just had a knee replacement and several of the floor nurses, physical therapist, and occupational therapist were all travelers. I'm an ex surgical nurse and if they had had traveling nurses when I was nursing I would have jumped at the opportunity. Good to have you on the forum. Lindy Lindy

Hello
Thank you all so much for your kind welcomes :)
Redetotry:
I pray you find your dream Roadtrek. I know you will just love it! I am amazed that the diesel prices here are the same as unleaded gas. I don't pay any more for gas than I did for my SUV I traded in. My RV insurance is also $200.00 less a year than my auto.
I sure hope you can visit the east coast one day. I think my favorite states are PA of course ;), Tennesee and Vermont/NY Adirondacks (up in Cedar's neck of the woods) for their plush mountains and pines. If you enjoy coastal areas, there are beautiful little towns all up and down the seaboard. Virginia is gorgeous as well for its sprauling farmlands. Heck I think I like them all :) I have such a great appreciation for the beauty of nature. I can't wait to see the west coast and everywhere in between!
Jomilt:
I tried for a week to join, but I never received a password in my email. I ended up writing the support folks who hooked me up to post :)
Although I will miss the postcard perfect snows here, I look so forward to warm winters. I grew up on ice skates, snowmobiles and was an avid skier, and never even thought about it being cold. I'm not sure why, but now, as I get older I really mind the cold weather. So here's to southern Texas!
Lindy:
I too was an OR Nurse for 12 years before I got burnt out and needed a change. Currently, I work in a Detox Unit. Some days I just wish I could do something mindless, like putting the sprinkles on the pop tarts at Kelloggs for a living. Then, I remind myself that nursing is not what I do, but who I am. There's no escaping it, so I might as well just buck up and take the good with the bad. It certainly is a rewarding career.
I am glad your knee is coming along so well. Like all nurses, I am sure you were a model patient ;)
Thank you all once again for your kind welcomes, Sharon

Hello
Hi, and welcome.
I had a Roadtrek 200 last year and loved it. I only traded to a bigger MH to fit my dog and my grandson.
If you decide to domicile in Texas, may I suggest East Texas. We are green, cooler, tall trees and rolling hills. We were in Pa. last year, and when we drove home my grandson said" this looks like Pennsylvania"
Have fun, and keep us posted!!

Hello
Hi Carole,
East TX sounds wonderful! Home away from home :)
I'm glad you enjoyed your roadtrek. I was out yesterday practicing city and country driving, parking and backing up. I feel very comfortable going forward, but I have to practice more on parking.
I hope you enjoy your Itasca just as well.
Sharon
