We belong to the Escapees RV Club and know Sharon McKay who is in charge of the SOLO's group. She posts here from time to time. She just sold her truck and 5th wheel for a motorhome recently. Might see her New Years in Yuma. I know they have alot of Singles in their group because I have talked to alot of them and see them all the time at the Escapades ( Escapees get togethers).
I also make up my own business cards and I make sure I have my picture, my motorhome photo and my cats photo( people remember me because of my cats!) with our mailing address & Winter address & phone number. So often you forget who gave you the card and if someone's photo is on it they don't forget. When I receive one from someone I ALWAYS put on the backside where I met them because I suffer from C.R.S. and have to trigger a memory to remember things at times. If you have a computer, printer & greeting card program you can make them yourself on just heavy paper or you can get the paper especially for business cards from Staples or Office Depot. I'm cheap I just use heavy paper and cut them myself. I'm on my 2 3-ring book of cards from people I have met down the road! You may be alone but you will never be lonely because there are lots of people out there that you will befriend. I will say that you will make alot of friends if you are an outgoing person who likes to chit chat. Laundry rooms, pool are the best place to find a new friend, join a social hour at the campground.

Gee, my second day as a member and I want to reply to so many messages! I'm divorced and still single by choice and loving my single life. I've tried retiring twice. First time - I ended up taking 2 part time jobs, then said to myself - you may as well go back to work fulltime, which I did but I kept one of the part time jobs while working fulltime. Then after 1 year retired from fulltime and quit the part time which is where I am now. I will go fulltime rving soon. Looking for a good deal on a Cl B. My friends say I am so much a "people" person I will be lost. I told them I have lots of people who are fulltime rvers - JUST HAVEN'T MET THEM YET!
I do want to meet up with some of those "FRIENDS" and caravan with a few - part of the time. And the other part of the time I want to work my way around this great USA and experience life as it is where ever I lay my head.
I have so many questions - like about Internet for computers for one - I am hooked to fast access via cable - will be looking for best ways to connect and will consider via satellite but looking for more info.
I am open to receiving email about Internet connections and Working on the road.
I will be leaving Florida in September - driving my Ford Focus - and visiting with a friend in Colorado Springs while she tries to talk me out of this. Have to decide on domicile - have read about SD and TX - just don't know the difference.
Sorry this is so long - as I tend to skip over long messages. :) Suz Big Adventure

Hi HappyDaze,
Welcome, I am another fairly newbie. I am also kicking around the idea of going fulltime. I just don't know if I can part with my house. I never was really in love with it until recently. Now I find myself thinking that I really like alot of my stuff and I don't know if I can part with it.I'm afraid if I put all of it in Storage I'll have garbage when I return to it plus that huge monthly bill.
I sure am going to be watching for the answers you get on the internet connections for the computer and what state they think is best.
Hope to bump (gently lol) into you have the road.
Love ya, Mary

Hi RoadBug,
Go back to your first posting and then read forward. I don't think you have seen all the messages you have received.
The ideas have been overflowing and we can give you a whole lot more.

I just read a tip that if you light a campfire people will come over and set awhile. I have avoided having a fire up to now because I always felt so lonely sitting on my own, but I'll give it a go next time I'm traveling. I know that here at the Lodge if anyone lights a campfire people just gravitate to it and we end up having a party.

there are 'loners on wheels' chapters all around. They meet and do single type stuff. There are other groups for singles. google a search for single rvers and you should come up with a bunch. getting my ducks in a row

Hi Roadbug,
It's Mary again. When you receive this just click on the reply button on the top right hand side of the box. In a few seconds a box will come up that says "reply to topic". Click in the message box and just start typing. All I found it is best to click the "notify me when someone replies" that way I don't miss any messages....my little lifesavers.
Take care & God Bless
Love ya, Mary
