Hi Roadbug....Welcome to our Forum... We are so happy to have you... I am enclosing some websites for you to enjoy....Most specifically, go to the Escapees Club and read every website they have...I think you will find what you are looking for among the Escapees...They are very close and make good friendships among the members. I just included a few of the websites within Escapees... I feel you'll find what you are looking for within that organization.
And NO....I'm not a member, but I KNOW it is a very special organization!!! Many of our Forum members are Escapees and speak VERY highly of that organization.
This is the website for RV Clubs by Brand Name of RV..States and RV Associations. http://www.rv-clubs.us/rv-clubs.html
The Escapees Club within that long list that is comprised of close-knit,supportive members. Here is the Wannabe Section website:

Chapters Chapters offer local events and social opportunities for you to enjoy close to home. Join us at our local luncheons, and travel to a planned chapter RV outing that is within hours from home for RV fun and adventure. The RV outings range from planned visits to area attractions and sporting events, to a holiday get-together that's a family reunion with good food shared with good friends. Whether you attend a luncheon or an RV fun-and-adventure outing, you'll have the opportunity to have your questions answered, share RV tips, and make new friends who RV and live in your area. Nonmember visitors welcome.

i joined the escapeds and they have no singles in their whole group. even tho they are friendly and like family. i think i would feel sort of strange being the only single person in the group, does that make sense to you? i wonder if you have singles in wisc. in your members. maybe it would be ok, but... i am not sure of it at this point. let me know what you think. thanks di Hi, I am brand new to this. Hi Roadbug,
I am in the same boat as you, except I live in AZ. I have been searching & trying to get involved about the last 3 mos. I think you will love this group of ladies...are you going to the Oct. 2007 Lodi Convention in Lodi, CA? I have decided to go and it will be one of the first really daring things I have ever done. I am alittle nervous, but more excited than anything else. Are you a member of the Good Sams Club?? Check what all they have and what is available to you. I was a member for several years. I am just becoming a member of a AZ Chapter and my first campout is next week. There are only 2 single women(one 90+,she even drives her own small rig, and the other lady they said rarely ever attends the group, but, I have been to 2 of the womens only luncheons and they were VERY nice). I have never been on a campout in my entire life (not even as a kid) so this will be new to me. I only know I have to get out there and find out what is available to a 65 year old single women.
I just checked out http://www.lonersonwheels.com/ and I am going to join then too. I see in WIS it says "Statewide" so maybe that means they have alot of chapters...it sure is worth checking it out.
You know you said "have my very own mug" I carry mine with me so I always have my own mug no matter where I go. lol
Take Care and God Bless....keep in touch with the girls here they'll never lead you astray.
Love ya, Mary

Hi, roadbug. I saw your comment on the Escapees, and although I am not a member, I know for a fact that they have a huge singles group called SOLOs.
I also have recently found out that the FMCA has a very active singles group.
If you go to Yahoo Groups, you will also find a ton of single travelers.
Good luck, and have fun.

I have found that just traveling around you can't help but meet people. Get some cards made with just your type of rig listed, your first name and e-mail address if you have one. I have a big collection of those given to me by people I meet. Some are ships that pass in the night, others are becoming long time friends. Before long you will have a network of people. When you are in the same area you can contact each other and meet up. Also Workamping gets you a longer time to make friends. There are many single men and women here, and we are now planning where to go at the end of the season and who we will meet up with.

About 20 years ago it was all the thing for RVers to carry cards like business cards. In fact, Good Sam gave us about 200 of the little things when we became Life Members, but they got outdated when we moved. We never did pass any of them out! I'm happy to hear the practice is alive and well. Good idea to just include the e-mail and not address, etc. like the old days.
We could probably create some doozies on our printers!
