I am in the same boat as you, except I live in AZ. I have been searching & trying to get involved about the last 3 mos. I think you will love this group of ladies...are you going to the Oct. 2007 Lodi Convention in Lodi, CA? I have decided to go and it will be one of the first really daring things I have ever done. I am alittle nervous, but more excited than anything else. Are you a member of the Good Sams Club?? Check what all they have and what is available to you. I was a member for several years. I am just becoming a member of a AZ Chapter and my first campout is next week. There are only 2 single women(one 90+,she even drives her own small rig, and the other lady they said rarely ever attends the group, but, I have been to 2 of the womens only luncheons and they were VERY nice). I have never been on a campout in my entire life (not even as a kid) so this will be new to me. I only know I have to get out there and find out what is available to a 65 year old single women.
I just checked out http://www.lonersonwheels.com/ and I am going to join then too. I see in WIS it says "Statewide" so maybe that means they have alot of chapters...it sure is worth checking it out.
You know you said "have my very own mug" I carry mine with me so I always have my own mug no matter where I go. lol

I have found that just traveling around you can't help but meet people. Get some cards made with just your type of rig listed, your first name and e-mail address if you have one. I have a big collection of those given to me by people I meet. Some are ships that pass in the night, others are becoming long time friends. Before long you will have a network of people. When you are in the same area you can contact each other and meet up. Also Workamping gets you a longer time to make friends. There are many single men and women here, and we are now planning where to go at the end of the season and who we will meet up with.

About 20 years ago it was all the thing for RVers to carry cards like business cards. In fact, Good Sam gave us about 200 of the little things when we became Life Members, but they got outdated when we moved. We never did pass any of them out! I'm happy to hear the practice is alive and well. Good idea to just include the e-mail and not address, etc. like the old days.
We could probably create some doozies on our printers!
