Hi there I'm a newbie on the forum and also to this RV thing. I have a cameo, 29 ft fifth wheel that I live in full time for now. I'll be purchasing a pick up to tow it so when I get that I'll be a little more mobile. I'm looking forward to making a trip next summer. In the meantime I'm trying to learn everything I can, as it is just me and the dogs. I go by Ava or Avalen or you can call me anything else, just don't call me late, I always run on time. Been a bus driver for more than 20 years and still have 10 more to go until my retirement. Looking forward to learning about all this stuff that I can do myself. Welcome Ava,
Good luck in your search for a truck to tow your 5th with. Remember to check for the appropriate weights. Look for the gross weight posted on the plate on the outside of your camper. Be sure that whatever truck you consider can tow MORE than that amont by about 15-20%. Gotta love that safety margin!
i've owned three 5ths and was part owner on a 4th one. Unfortunately that went down the road when the X left. I really like 5ths, lots of good storage space aboard.
Again,....welcome aboard! Cedar Adirondack Mts. in NY '02 Ford Escape '04 Chalet Arrowhead (C-->)

Welcome, Ava, glad to have you with us.
And, yep, there's nothing we can't do! I love your part of the world - hope to be spending more time there soon. Keep us up-dated with your truck purchase - and pics of the 5er are always welcomed! Smiling is contagious - try it!

thank you for your nice welcomes. I have started my research on the truck thing as far as the size and allowing for that % for margin of safety and such. So far it hasn't sunk in yet, but no hurry at the moment, can't do any purchasing until october or november. (I keep a tight budget)My total GVWR is 11310, and the other part I know for sure is I want a long bed and an extended cab and a chevy, and I look good in blue :p I'm going to try and attach a pic but I'm not sure how to do that so if it doesn't show up I'll have to work on that.
