Allstate is not noted for being economical. I've had them for years, never had a claim, and my ins just keeps going up. I'm switching this month to Pekin for about a 25% drop in premium.
Good luck. If you're in a cg and have problems I'd say don't hesitate to ask someone. Maybe if you see another solo traveler.

Hi, I'm really new here, just joined yesterday. About Insurance - I don't have my RV yet but when I moved to Florida in 2003 I found that my auto Ins went way up due to "advancing age" (LOL - I was 67 then). Agent shopped and found a company that did not penalize for age, however I still pay nearly $800 for auto and that's pmt discounted for paying annual - and I've had no tickets or ever filed a claim. Anybody know what States may have better rates? I can't wait to get more involved in this messaage board. I am looking for a Cl B - plan to work around the country. Suz Big Adventure

You're going to love this group of SUPER helpful ladies (in other words, we're all in the same boat--some are just further now the stream).
I am also fairly new and I understand it can be scarey, but, it's more excited than anything else.....gets our blood pumping.
I have everything: home, car and RV through State Farm and I couldn't be happier. They are right there if you have a claim and 2 years in a row I have gotten a refund on my premiums (good driver & multiply policies).

Welcome and I'm glad you got your insurance at a more reasonable rate. Like several people have said start slow and learn everything you can about your rig. I'd rather learn in an area that I'm familiar with than be 1,000 miles away in an unfamiliar area.
But most important have the time of your life. I think you're very brave. Stan asked me the other day if I would continue traveling if he passed on and I couldn't answer him because I don't honestly know. It's given me something to think about. I know it wouldn't in our 32' 5er but I might in a Lazy Daze or or a small class C. You go girl. Lindy
