Hi "Girls"!
I have been lurking for a while, and have really enjoyed your chats. I made the decision a few weeks ago to stop waiting for my husband to 'start sharing my dream' so I decided and stated that "I am buying an RV. I'm driving it down the Baja Mexico pennisula. You can come if you want, but I'm going."
Last night I bought my first RV of any type, a used Class A MH with 26K miles, from an individual. I will only be very part-time right now, so my rig will be sitting for extended lengths of time.
I have been searching the forums for lists of things that I need, tips for solving problems and other how to ideas. Here are some of the things I have found and know. Please advise of other info.
Mice - use Bounce fabric softener sheets,
Ants - sprinkle Comet or a Dutch cleanser aroung the tire and anything that might touch the ground,
Holding items in place - window putty was suggested is better than earthquake hold 'sticky stuff',
Have several fire extinquishers throughout your rig.
Use 'Sta-bil' fuel stabilized in the fuel tank when storing for over 90 days.
I have questions about what type of independant stabilizers / jacks to purchase.
What is the best 'dehumidifying material' when stored?
Any advice of Solar-powered trickle battery chargers?
If you will send me information, I will put it together in a format for all to use.
Thanks,

Welcome Baja, you sound as if you're on the ball. Men don't know what they want, they need to be told! And you told him! I'll leave it to others to answer your questions, just wanted to say Hi.

Welcome to the forum BajaBabe. Hope your action jolts your DH into joining your dream. If not, you should have gathered by now on this forum that there are plenty of ladies flying solo and loving it. We are still in the wannabe stage but I have learned so much here to make the transition as smooth as possible. Best wishes for happy traveling! Fancy Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job. Hiya Baja! Welcome,... I really like your attitude. Yep,.. if he doesn't get off that man-duff of his and show some interest, you put that new MH in gear and hit the road. Our lives are too short to put a life's dream on a back burner because a man isn't excited about it.
So again,... Welcome! and Happy Trails!
