If you see a big redhead wearing sparkly cat's eye sunglasses and driving a 29 ft. Winnie, please wave as you go by. I'm a brand new full-timer...and a brand new RVer; until this past November, I hadn't ever stepped foot in an RV. I've had a dream for years to buy a Minnie Winnie and travel around the US; I finally took the plunge in November. I quit my job, sold my house, and bought a Winnebago Outlook (the re-branded Minnie). I set out from Maryland on January 16, and every day I find myself saying "I can't believe this is my life!"
I'm really glad I found this forum; I look forward to lots of good conversation and advice. I'm keeping a blog about my experiences (www.candiland.typepad.com); if you're blogging about RVing, I'd love to read it.
Cheers,
Candi

YOU GO GIRL!
I did the same thing (as far as buying an RV, quitting the job, etc). I've had a personal injury setback but overall have had a good time.

Hi Candi,..... and Welcome! I'm so glad things are going well for you and you are happy with your decisions. I'm still living in my house and working part time, by my own choice. But thinking all the time,... hee hee.....

Candi . . .YES!!!!! I did the same thing: bought a 23-footer in October, sold everything, and took off the last day of December. Up to now I've been staying in county campgrounds in the San Diego area. But that's going to change soon with my workamping job in Utah for 6 months as well as a little travel before then.
Do you ever get the feeling you should have done this a long time ago!!!!!!!!

Welcome, Candi!
Me, too - as far as I bought an rv, quit my job and headed on out, and had never rv'd before (and didn't like camping LOL) - but I did so in early summer 2005. I hope you're like me and every day just keeps getting better and better.
Glad to have you with us.

Candi,
Loved reading your blog. I laughed so hard reading about your awning experience!!! I only use mine for vacations, but may one day. . . I agree with Sharon, you should think about writing a book! Thanks for the entertainment. I'm in Alabama so if your ever this way, give a shout and maybe we could meet. Keep enjoying yourself and letting us know how you are.

Oh, geesh! Just when my fingers were turning blue from typing so much this evening on my glorious little laptop in a motel room in Kanab, Utah, thinking, "yeah, you've really gotg to get off this machine and go to bed--NOW," someone mentions your excellent blog, which I somehow missed.
So now it's 10:00 Utah time and I need to leave here by 7:00 in the morning to drive over 500 miles back to San Diego, and what have I been doing? Yep. And I loved reading the parts I've read. More to go, but you've got a wonderful entertaining way of writing and I'm totally jealous!
Love it!
