I am a newbie, althought my husband isn't. We are looking for a fun group, off all ages, to travel some with. We live in the Piedmont of NC.

Hi Mary, welcome to the forum. I'm from Louisiana so can't help you with campers in NC. It takes a while to find camping friends. My husband doesn't want to travel or camp so I have found women friends to camp with, mostly in Texas. The Good Sam Club and Escapees have chapters all over so check them out. They both have web sites.
