Hi all,

I have been diligently researching rvs for the past few months. Although I had wanted a class B, even used was not in my budget since I wanted something from 2008 or newer. Finally purchased a 2008 Itasca Cambria with several upgrades in pristine condition. You know, previously owned by a little old lady who only used it on Sundays. :)

Hoping to get on the road soon and meet you but first I need to learn about my rig. I've seen some of you on other forums I've read and have benefitted from the information you shared. Thank you for being so generous.

Thanks Sprinter,

I'm in Florida. Will do my shakedown camping locally before venturing too far. I've never owned an RV, just rented two in my life so a lot to learn.

.Joan - There's a gal also in FL that has a white westie who's name is Maggie Mae. Haven't seen Karen on this forum for awhile - she has a Pace Arrow RV.

Fun travels to you and Maggie Mae!

Hi everyone, My name is Elle and I am buying a 1998 Coachmen Sport 19 1/2 feet today. Its in like new condition, One owner, All records and only 30k miles. I am SO SO excited. I am clueless about rving , but went on a road trip cross country with my sister in my Lincoln towncar 4 times last year "for the fun of it" I am addicted to it. Being Irish maybe its the gypsy in me. I really wanted a small fully contained motorhome and this is perfect for me! If I had a tail it would be wagging..oh it is! :-)

There are so many places to go see.. Oh my gosh...I'm also a foodie :-)

so starting tonight I am reading all the manuals. and getting to know my "rig" and community of fellow rvers..

I plan on doing this full time! It doesn't have internet and that whole LP gas thing and generator and tanks are so foreign to me, Its exciting to learn though.

Hope you are all having fun and as the song goes...Life is a highway and I want to ride it all night long...

Hi Elle, welcome to the forum. Congratulations on getting your RV. There are a lot of women on the road with some kind of RV. What part of the country are you in, I'm in Louisiana. Some of us have get togethers several times a year. There's one planned in Texas in April. If you have any questions just ask and we will try to help you.

Since you have bought an older motor home be sure and find out how old the tires are. RV tires age out more than get used up. They can look good and you can be in danger of a blowout. A blowout can do a lot of damage in the wheel well so good tires are good insurance. Some people think 5 years is the limit, I sure wouldn't go over 7.
