Hello

Hi all

I am Linda Martin, I am 57 and recently widowed after a 40 year marriage and I have never lived alone before. I have struggled for a year with what to do and moved around a lot. While on a trip with two of my grandkids I decided to sell up everything an buy a Roadtrek and stop fighting the urge to move and go with it. My folks in their 70's now, from Klamath Falls, OR bought me a nice travel trailer parked at their place, so between the two I have a home. My home with my husband, Jim had been in Kennewick, WA for the past 29 years and our dearest friends live in Olympia, WA so I will travel that triangle mostly. I have one son and 4 grandchildren ages 7-13 all in Kennewick.

I discovered that I wouldn't get widows benefits because I am too young so I will be struggling for a few more years until that kicks in. When I travel with my mini schnauzer Mikomi I will stay in Rest Area's, Wal-Mart, BLM parks and friends driveways. I have a golden passport that I got a few years ago for being disabled so that helps. I was denied SS and I could probably fight it but just don't have the emotional strength right now. I (we) have rv'd since 1970 and have had every kind except a class A motorhome so I know the ropes. Just have to get over the scariness of being alone and get through the grief. I have joined FMCA, Roadtrek International and Solotrekers and all have been a godsend. My biggest help this past year has been my computer and Facebook. I have spent many a sleepless night playing silly games. I certainly appreciate all my web friends and hope to meet up with you some day. Seems like the majority of you are in the south and east. Does anyone live in the beautiful Pacific NW? I am online most of the time and am on facebook and I welcome all new friends.

Hi, Linda,

Welcome!

I'm from the beautiful PNW, in SW WA near Vancouver. I'm new to RVing alone, too. I started out wanting a class B but they are hard to find in our area, but did find a nice B+ (23 ft Gulfstream), which is working out fine. So far I haven't traveled far, mostly up and down I-5.
