Wow, just signed up and boy, does this sound like just what I'm looking for, women RVers, some who travel alone. I'm doing a feasibility study of this lifestyle as I get ready to retire. I know absolutely nothing about RVing and I'm just starting my research and have lots of questions since I don't know where to start. However, I'm finding the quest for knowledge fun and exciting already. I'm single (62) and my first question is can I really do this at this age and alone. Looks like I just may find the answer here. Let me keep reading the forums. Sounds like a fun bunch. I'm so excited, I'm going to an RV show in Atlantic City, NJ next month to check out a few. I'm looking to eventually become a full timer with a Class A mobile home but will go the renting route with something smaller this summer just to see if this is even a feasible dream. So much to learn, so little time. Oh, and did I say I was excited?

You can RV alone - lots of the ladies here do just that and love it !!! I think renting is a good idea, that way you'll know if it's for you. Fulltiming is different from vacationing, but renting will give you a good idea of the mechanics involved and you can see what it's like to stay at a campground and meet some of the wonderful people that are there. Maybe you can even manage to join some of the ladies here - once you know when you'll be hitting the road you'll have to let us know and then see who's where and if you can "hook up" !!!

I am a 58 year old, single woman who is RVing full time. Well - right now some dear friends asked me to spend the winter with them in Escondido, CA, so my Alpenlite is in storage right now. I tow a big fifth wheel as I could get more space in the fifth wheel than in the class A's I could afford. At the show go look at the Rexall's. They have great floor plans and huge slides - they are a moderately priced class A. They might appeal.

At any rate - yes, you can do this, and you have come to the right place! A year ago I was in your shoes, and scared to death, and having to come to this because of the economy - and everyone was so wonderful, and answered so many questions, and are so welcoming and loving, and gave me the courage to actually go out and do it! And, I love it! I truly feel my Alpenlite is home. I've made it feel like mine and I love the compactness of it.

So go forth, and we'll be here to do the hand-holding! We're REALLY good at it!

I just bought a class b+ motorhome last month. I'm single and plan to take trips around my area with it. I love my 'stick and brick' home and being near my family too much so I don't plan to fulltime.

Yes, I think renting a motorhome would be a great idea. It can be expensive, so be prepared for that part.

Hello Everyone! thanks for the invite Joella. this looks like a great way to meet new people. My husband and children and I are the proud owners of a 2001 Class A Gulfstream. It's one of a kind. We have only seen another one like it only twice and I believe it was the same motorhome both times. You don't see too many green motorhomes on the road. We are only vacation type RVer's. We still have quite a few years until we can retire and hopefully RV full time. Right now the RV is parked and winterized, waiting for the snow to come. I know it's a nasty 4 letter word but since we live in New England, it's something we have to deal with. Looking forward to posting on the site! Take care.
