Thanks, I'll try a new category in Chat. I would love to see a pic of that screen box attached to the RV in Calif. :) Unfortunately, my cats are real hunters, to the misfortune of our local birds and voles :eg: Thanks, Maddy

Sounds like our girls.... (dachshunds). They catch birds all the time.. most often in the spa room, and bring us gophers. Good little hunters.
I'll try and get a photo of that screen box..On the Internet, I've seen one attached to a front passenger window of a motorhome too..
Glad you posted again...
Bye, Joella

Maddy, I've traveled with 2 outside cats. I kept two cat carriers in the overhead bed, the cats liked to lay in them with the doors open while I traveled. Before I would get out of the motorhome (gas station or store)I would insure the cats were in the carriers then I would shut the doors. I could then go in and out easily. When I stayed someplace for awhile I would play kitty hockey at the door and just made them stay inside. They did fine.
I put the carriers on the floor of the house about a week before I left. It gave the cats time to get used to them, they each kind of claimed one for their own.
Oh yeah, welcome to the forum. Sue "no matter where you go, there you are!"

I guess I made your discussion take a detour into cat country. Sorry, didn't mean to. :(
Thanks, Maddy

Welcome Lisa & Maddie!
What fun to have some new blood on our forum! Let me also invite you to our chat room. We meet there nightly between 8-9:30ish EST. Not knowing where you two are, it might be a bit early for you but try to make it in. There's a "Chat" thread that will give you directions for getting there. When you're ready to log in it would be helpful if you used your screen name so we know who you are. We have a great time there and nothing's sacred -- so be prepared to laugh a lot! Wow, Joella, that sounds like such a cool idea!! and then the box folds down for storage and transport?...like a protected "run" off the basement through the floor via...what, a trap door? I bet you could make money with that idea LOL!
I also expect the kitties will be fine, Maddy. I moved from an indoor/outdoor situation once with two cats who were in their prime into a small studio apartment with no safe way to go outside and it never seemed to faze them for an instant.
I think they just want to be with their 'person' mostly...Just make sure you get that screen door shut quickly at each stop at first.... Also we have friends who spray something on their screen door and the cat stays away...no scent to us but seems to warn her off at their place...and otherwise I know she could shred or at least push that door open. She was also one who was trained to a harness at aged 7 or so....
Good luck!!...and be patient...:)
jan I care very little about where I am going, so how can I be lost?
