Glad to see you, Chris, and to see these posts of Linda's last month. I bought my 'new to me' Class A Winnebago (1996) in a e-bay auction last Sunday and leave next Monday, the 7th, to pick it up in AZ and drive about 1750 miles home to BC. I am still excited LOL!!
Like you, I spent hours and hours online and thinking, dreaming and planning. I expect to be very pleased with my purchase and hope to hit the road full-time (on my own with one of my dogs) in December or January later this year or early 2009. I turned 57 last Friday LOL. I have quite a few medical issues although most are well under control so I need no other real income. Who knows, 'though? If I make this a permanent life, I may need to look at employment later in life...:).
Seems many of us seem to be 'of an age' although I may be a tad on the 'older side'. Most of you are way more forward-thinking to envision doing this now. I applaud and encourage you!!
Keep us posted as to how your plans are going...:)..
jan I care very little about where I am going, so how can I be lost?

Hi Jan, Gee, I bought my current RV on eBay also! It has been three years now, let me see, that made me 60 then. Anyway, I flew from Vermont to NJ to pick mine up and drive it home. It hasn't disappointed me, the seller and I still communicate via email occasionally. He was so concerned about an older woman alone doing such an outrageous thing LOL. Are you able to full time right away? I had to wait a bit, actually am still waiting for my house to sell, but since I am living in my RV I feel like the full time has begun, only I am in my backyard! Let me know how your new adventure unfolds. "Endless good in endless ways"

I have a fulltiming friend that bought a class c motorhome and changed the whole backend into an office. Installed a Motosat on the roof, as well as solar panels. Her computer based business is connected to medical billing for some physicians in her former home town. If you have any interest in this type of information, let me know and I will track her down and you can communicate with her about information that has worked and not worked for her. She has been roaming the USA and living and working this way for a couple of years now and seems to love it. Happy Trails
