Hi all. I am 6 days after purchasing my first Class A unit, a 34' motorhome capable of 'boon-dogging', circa 1996, Winnebago Vectra, in AZ, and am to fly there to collect it 9 days from now. For a Canadian like me, it is an incredible buy! I am truly flying high LOL!!
I expect to be full-timing it, come January 2009. I am SO pleased to have found a 'females only' forum as I am not remotely interested in trying to connect with some/any lonely or carousing male at this point in my life, to be explicit, although I am heterosexual.
I am actually hoping to attend women-only events/rallies for awhile... Any ideas??
jan I care very little about where I am going, so how can I be lost?

Welcome Jan, and congrats on your upcoming purchase!
Will you be driving back to Canada, or will you be boondocking here in the states?
There are many groups that are mixed without the pressure to hook up. Several of the women belong to different ones & I'm sure they'll chime in soon.
As a single woman I've found a group here in the Los Angeles area that has been invaluable to me. We're a very ecclectic group and I don't often camp without them. Again, depending on where you are I'm sure you can find a similar group.
I'm glad you're asking questions -- we're all full of lots of answers! You might also try joining us in the chat room some time. Check out the thread about it.
Again, welcome! Laura -- and Jed

Welcome !!! Congratulations on your new MH ! You'll have to be sure and post pictures once you pick it up :D I don't have any info on groups to join but I'm sure you'll get some good info here. I'm going to be fulltiming starting in August and I'm traveling by myself but not alone as I have my dog Molly and my cat Murphy traveling with me. Enjoy !! Welcome Jan! How nice it was of you to join us.
I think you'll be very pleased with your Winnebago! VERY good brand.
How neat you have your full-timing home purchased and will begin your "freedom" January 2009. No doubt you have many things to accomplish in readiness of your flight to freedom. The months will fly!!
Come back often, we'll enjoy getting to know you.
Again, Welcome to Our Forum!!!

Hi Jan,
Welcome to the forum. I belong to a group called RVingWomen.org. There is a chapter that covers Washington and BC. I'm not in that chapter, but in ours, which is the FreeWheelers, we go out at least once a month together. It's a lot of fun. Patty and Sammie, too.

HI everyone and how nice to meet you all! I see that I have not even got the jargon straight yet LOL. I will be driving it home from there to Vancouver Island where I live, after picking up a friend for company mid-way in Salt Lake.I plan to stick to established campgrounds en route as I am still chicken about operating all the gadgets!
My little shih tzu is staying home this time but she shall be my travelling companion when I leave in January. Maybe I will even get a kitten and my two older cats are staying home with my husband (his medical issues prohibit travel like this) and are too old to change their ways I am sure.
I will stay in touch and expect to get to know you all eventually. If you see me saying anything truly stupid, please feel free to set me straight LOL.

welcome Jan and congrats on your RV purchase. This forum is a great place to learn about all those gadgets in your motorhome. No questions are stupid either so don't be afraid to post and ask. Where in AZ are you picking up your MH? I'm in AZ and its hot so be prepared for the heat and drink lots of water. Sorry to say Arizona is no place to be in the summer unless its up in the mountains where its cooler. Enjoy your trip and we'll be looking forward to your posts.
