RVmule------- We are in Kansas-------- And we bought our jumping mule in Mo. also----outside of Anderson, Mo. this has been many years ago- We used him for hunting & also we took care of thousands of acres of other people's pasture land & cattle in the Flint Hills of Kansas----- & if I rode my mare on those side hills with flint rock for more than two days her feet & legs were sore--- I could ride Jerry our mule for days on those side hills & on flint rock & his feet & legs never got sore!
I have to tell you a funny story about another jumping mule we had----- I was married & living in another part of the state of Kansas------& my Dad needed help with cattle & pastures--- & called & asked me to come & bring my saddle & help him ride pastures to get caught up-etc/etc--- so I went the night before & my Dad woke me up before sun up- & already had my horse saddled & in the horse trailer for me- & Dad had his mule saddled & also loaded & in the trailer! So off we go to the pastures----- & it is still dark when we get there--& Dad opened up the trailer & asked me to hold on to his mule/ who is saddled & he has a lead rope on him---while he gets my horse out of the trailer for me-------- So he hands me the lead rope to his mule-----& about that time that mule starts to making the most awful noise & puts his head down--& I know we are about to have a rodeo & no tickets have been sold------ I knew if that mule got away from me---- with my Dad's good roping saddle----I would be dead meat------- so I wrap that lead rope around myself looking for a tree to also get wrapped around before the mule takes off------well----toooooooo late---- that mule took off with me wrapped in that lead rope------ & by the time he stopped--- I didn't have a lot of skin left on me!!!!!! Dad comes racing down to where I am --on my mare-----& sees if I'm going to live-----& finds a first aid kit in the truck to doctor me with-------& then Dad said to me-------I forgot my mule doesn't like women----- & I guess I forgot you were one!!!!!!!!!!
Well I rode pastures all that day------& when I got off my horse that night I wished I could die- I hurt so bad------losing all that skin-----banged up & then riding a horse on a lope most of the day checking pastures-when I wasn't use to it---- I thought I was going to die or wished I could have!!!!!!!!! :)
