Well we got our motorhome (2000 Itasca 31 ft )
and I am going to take it for a drive this afternoon.
Wish me luck !!
I did drive it home from the inspection station and stayed betwen the lines of the road LOL
I have more concrns about figuring out what is what than driving as we bought second hand and had someone pick it up in Illinois for us.
DH is a quadriplegic so its all up to me.
Am looking forward to the adventures!

Hooray, with the motorhome you should have a great time getting out there and exploring! It can be done by wheelchair. I have seen some pretty nice RV's made wheelchair accessible.Enjoy!

Good for you,... I'm sure you will both enjoy getting out and traveling. So many parks and trails are now wheelchair accessible with gravel and boardwalks. Have a great time!

Welcome Vanislegirl! Good for you! You will discover a lot of handicapped RVers out there. At FMCA (Family Motorcoach Assn) rallies there are so many different types of wheelchairs and handicap scooters! It must not be too difficult since so many folks do it!
Don't hesitate to ask for help wherever you are if you need it. RV folks are the most helpful bunch you could ever meet. The girls on this forum are pretty special, too.
Hope you have some terrific stories to tell us.

Oooh, sounds exciting! I am new here too and anxiously awaiting our first MH purchase. I love our little pop up but soooooo not the same thing.
I'm excited for you and can't wait to hear about your travels!

Hi Vanislegirl, I wanted to tell you about the place I'll be workamping this winter - it's Yaquina Outstanding Natural Area by Newport Oregon and it has a wheelchair accessible beach/tidepool area. You may want to put that on your "to see" list :D

Congratulations. I saw a picture of a chairlift into a MH (up the stairs) and another with a ramp-so I know there's stuff out there. Sorry, but don't remember where, probably in one of the MH magazines. Definitely, wheelchair access parks, etc are everywhere, even many of the caverns we have visited have access-so go and have fun. Seems like you're both adventurous and don't let anything get in your way. Welcome to the forum. carold

Vanislegirl, Are part of the Escapees club? They have a group called "No Limits" that many are wheel chair bound and they get together for campouts.
