Well I joined the list/forum in Sept '05' so I wouldn't say that I'm a newbie to the list/forum. But I kinda just jumped in and started yakking and don't think I ever did anything close to a intro. And of course a lot of this will be ? not a rerun but a retype of things I've already said. But..... And as long as Dave got this newbie thing going I guess I should now 'Intro' myself. LOL Hmmmm. I'm female of course, single, empty nester, 52yrs old, over the road truck driver who has dreamed of full time camping for close to 20yrs. I've loved camping since I was a kid, camped with my parents in different kinds of campers. And have continued to camp with a tiny motorcycle pop-up camper but mostly I have tent camped. I had planned on waiting until when I retired but got to thinking, 'why wait?" I might not still be around, alive and kicking come the age of retirement. I have two adult kids who are out on their own and living their own lives. My daughter, the oldest, lives in Seattle and my son lives in TN. Both kids are fully supportive of my plans and think it's way kool. The only grumping that I hear is that they can't go with me. Was born and raised in upstate NY, lived in TN for 9yrs, have been living in ME for a little over 4yrs. I am now in the process of sorting and getting rid of all my accumulated stuff. I am going to TN again this weekend so that Monday I can again try to get my drivers license changed over to TN. I am only using a TN address to get out of paying ME's state income taxes. I will be living in my company provided big truck in order to save as much money as possible for the next 2 to 3yrs. When I figure I have enough money to buy a pickup truck and camper and have enough money left over to travel for a year without worrying about working I will become a full timer. After that I hope to do the workamper thing. Or even work thru temp agencies if need be for the money for the next traveling session. I wish I could just say the heck with it and jump heart n soul into the full timing life right now. But that dirty word 'money' is a major stumbling point. I am so very glad that I joined this forum. I think everyone here is simply awesome. The warmth and welcome I have received make this the place best ever. And I am so looking forward to finally getting out there and meeting some of you!! We like them "just jump in-ers!" Your posts prove that even when you don't yet have an RV you still belong on this Forum. Why? Because you're a woman, you have an interest in RVing and you have an opinion! Glad to have you aboard. And any of the people who have signed up, but have yet to post, come on in, you'll be made welcome. 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Jean the Scot Bogie the Pit (rescued) Shona the Calico Cat

I'd rather call you a newbie than an oldster. You're still one up on me with the pop up. Right now I have nothing. But scrimping, saving, pitching, selling, and dreaming of the day I can call a nice class c 'home'.
I really like this forum and look forward to getting on every day to see if there's anything new to read.
You should be able to save quite nicely living in your rig. getting my ducks in a row

Don't have the pop-up anymore. Poor little thing was only big enough to sleep 2. No sink, stove, fridge or potty. Was intended for use with a motorcycle but never once did pull it with the bike. Just the pickup or car. For the past 4yrs it's been tent or nothing. I want to go full timing so badly I was almost tempted to have at it with the tent. But then my 'older' better/common sense stomped on those flaky ideas! LOL So like you I will be scrimping, scraping and saving for the next couple of years till I can buy and go. I am dreaming of an ArticFox, 26', 4 season trailer. Oh! And a pickup truck to pull it with. And if the pennies are enough? A motorcycle. Don't want much do I? Hey! if you're gonna dream go all the way. I continually do my homework and have pretty much decided that a 30' class c with over the cab bunk and rear island bed,(with or without slide) with a cargo carrier on back and small scooter is what I'm shooting for. The fur babies and I should be quite comfy in something like that and it should suit the way I will live and what I will do.
So I log on here every night to fuel the dream. One of these days I'm going to make one of those paper chains like we made as kids to countdown til Christmas. I'm gonna tear off a link for each month and watch it get shorter. :) getting my ducks in a row
