Welcome futurefulltimer, I think being here you will find that we all have one thing in common: Wanderlust. As much as we love to visit family and friends we often get "Hitch Itch" and want to hitch up and head down the road to explore a new area. I'm a shutterbug so I'm ALWAYS taking photo's of our travels and I'm in awe of some of the beauty that surrounds us.
I have found RVrs are the most friendly people so I do not fear camping around them. Welcome aboard...warning you may learn to smile too much because you are having so much fun! Seeya down the road, Jenny & Dan

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm learning a lot just from reading about everyone else's experiences. Taking notes and compiling my lists. (I'm a 'list' person) Went in to the office yesterday and arranged to have my payroll deduction upped by another $50 a month. Usually only increase it every Sept. to match my pay increase but REALLY wanting to hit that goal and have that RV in the driveway and not in my head. Hoping to have it there fully paid for about 6 months prior to selling the house so we can 'get to know each other'. getting my ducks in a row

The other thing you can do while you are "pregnant" with RV is to start unloading possesions. It's easy at first, a lot of stuff can go in the trash, some can be given to Goodwill, there are yardsales to help with your fund, and bigger items can bring in some more money. It's towards the end, when you get to the stuff that tugs at your heart that the decisions get harder. I have a small storage unit, I'm sure if I went through it again more would go, but I'll keep it for a year and then re-evaluate my position. 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Jean the Scot Bogie the Pit (rescued) Shona the Calico Cat

Sparkle......Have begun the perging process. I have storage tubs in the basement (stacks of them) with the kids names on them. I'm dividing stuff and have given them a time limit on moving the tubs into their own places. From there they can pitch it if they want. I've got enough stuff for one more yard sale and then won't sell much more until the countdown. I've started filling a few small storage tubs with stuff that I know I will need. Most of all....nothing more comes into this house unless it's either disposable, or I will NEED it! getting my ducks in a row

Welcome, Welcome,...Welcome!
I doubt I'll ever full time. Right now it's just doesn't "sing" to me. But I'm very interested in being at least a half-timer or a third-timer.... keeping my home here for the summer months. But then .. you KNOW a woman can change her mind! hee hee...
I'm glad you have joined us and I wish you lots of happiness as you plan your future and then make it happen! Cedar '02 Ford Escape '04 Chalet Arrowhead (C-->)

I'll add my welcome too. I think almost everyone here is either full timing or have the plans in motion. I am a future full timer! It's gonna be 2 or 3 years before I can do it. Not old enough to retire and to broke to get any kind of a rig right now. So I will continue to work and save my pennys. Wishing you all the best of luck. Ya know we really do need another section to this forum. We have one for 'open talk' and for 'recipes' and that's it. It would be great if a seperate section were available for introductions. Heading could be 'Intros' or 'Newbies'. Is that possible? That way intros wouldn't be lost in the shuffle. Sometimes it's really hard to find a posting that I want to read over for some reason. It's really time consuming to go back thru all of the postings on here to find just one. ;) Echo (who is a) future full timer a mom with an empty nest, single, stifled and ready to cut loose with a Pom named Shade!

That sounds like a good idea. We would have to work hard at not getting off track on something interesting one of the Newbies said. Maybe Dave could do a MOVED post. I've seen that on other Forums. I too am concerned that I miss a new member and hurt their feelings. 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Jean the Scot Bogie the Pit (rescued) Shona the Calico Cat

Echo - Let's give it a try and see if it helps. You'll notice it's been added above Recipes. Merry Christmas.
