Milt and I had breakfast-- and then took off for Bryan to buy a adapter for my little Christmas tree. The Radio Shack man here didn't have it.. and told me 3 Radio Shacks had it in Bryan.. I bought it-- and got it home and the plug didn't work.. So, ate our soup for lunch... took a short rest in my "Queenie Chair" and then went back to our local Radio Shack.. Come to find out... the man had told me WRONG what I needed-- they don't even have what I needed, and he gave my money back- so we didn't have to go 60 miles to Bryan again. And he found on-line where I could get what I needed---- so we came home and ordered the adapter.

He was MOST apologetic about giving me the wrong info... but I told him "No problem... we all make mistakes"... and he said "Well you always come in the store-- happy and grinning --- and we want to see you stay that way!!"... Hahaha!!

How can such a little thing eat up 3/4 of the day? Now, I'll wait for UPS to deliver my adapter. I do use that Christmas tree year round.. I just like it.. I've never seen another one like it. I would have been very unhappy if I never got to enjoy it again!

Have a wonderful day, y'all!

Happy Traveling!

Joella

Joella - Like my friend always says - just another outing. Glad you found your adapter. My mother enjoys a small ceramic Christmas tree out all year round too.

glad you had a good day but it's too bad that you made a long trip for not...and glad that the closier Radio Shack was able to help you find it...I keep my caroliers out all year DH says why I say too much effort went into making them to let they stay in plastic bins all year except for a couple weeks at Christmas time so the three of them as well as Father Christmas occupy a cornor of my living room...in fact DH wants them to go to the funeral now now of us have figured out why but he has told us several times that the first time I thought he is kinding but don't think so....strange

We have had the kids all here for a few days off an on the hospice nurse once again has told us that the time is short don't think he will last the weekend so we are staying close by...he has gone down hill so much that we feel pretty much the same and actually pray that he will return to him Heavenly Father soon as much for his sake as for ours

How frustrating for you, Joella. Hope the ordered one is right! Life would be much simpler if manufacturers all used the same size parts and pieces. I just hate it when I try to fix something only to be told, "Oh, that's an old model. We don't carry parts for OLD models!" Today OLD is 4 or 5 years, I guess. I swear they install a "use by" date into computers, too. Ever notice they look at a 5 year old computer with scorn and say, "Well, it IS old. Have you considered buying a new one?"

Sheila, wonder if Larry wanted the Xmas things at his funeral because they became a part of his life? Maybe he thought the idea of them singing his way to heaven? Guess we just aren't supposed to understand men. He certainly has a strong will and doesn't want to give up, doesn't he? Whenever he lets go it will be hard, even though you know it's best. Keep those Christmas carolers handy and you can all have a light moment when you look at them as you say goodbye.

You have your carolers out all year-- and Father Christmas as well--- so you are understanding how I keep my Christmas tree out... I hesitate to add that I also have a 13 house Christmas scene out in four shelves of our den bookcase... Someone may think I am completely bonkers and nutz!! :)

Sheila, I'm so sorry!

I have been where you are now with my parents-- and it is sad when you wish for the suffering to be over for your dear loved one, so they can get rest and peace. I understand!!

May God be with both of you--- and the kids and grandkids too.
