oops

thought everyone would get a kick out of my oops!

Some time ago and when that is remains unknown I purchased a package of the cooked sealed in a bag able to store on shelve till open... Bacon...so handy to have reheats so fast tastes good and the package I got was large that way I could freeze it and have it when needed great plan right??? yep a good plan. put it in the cupboard with plans of BLT's and grilled cheese/bacon sandwiches..you get the picture even had a reunion with our kids said I have bacon and they brought something else so it wasn't brought out...sense we arrived in Q I've smelled a odor not sure what or even where smelled not rotten but not expected either ...checked out the fridg nothing other than there is some bolgne in it and bacon but they both didn't seem to be creating the odor. Then yesterday dh opened up the cupboard to get some soup and there it was the smell and the refreg hadn't been open so was reasonably sure that is where it came from so went looking pulled out the bacon yes thought hmmm this doesn't seem to be sealed still the way it should be think sealed properly with a machine that sucks out the air..vacumn seal that is it....now it was loose so got to looking didn't see where the seal was broken so went looking for the best used by date! finally found it prepare or freeze by Jan 12 2011 yes 2011 what a waste of 72 slices of bacon! that is my oops for the day

whats yours???

Sheila that sounds like a very smelly oops, lol..

I have one to tell also, it was actually an oops on my husband, but it affected me most. A little background info first. Our cat is gray our waterbed currently has gray sheets on it. Our cat was laying on my side of the bed sleeping, I was in another room at the time. My husband wanted me to have the portable phone (because I was expecting a call) I watch TV in bed to stay warm. So anyway he tosses the phone on the bed and hits the cat, (because he did not see the cat on the gray sheets) the cat proceeds to jump out of its skin and punctures a hole in our waterbed. A big OOps. Luckily we have a patch kit and I think all is going to be well, but I had a very wet side of the bed for a while last night. lol
